In the frozen screenshot is it just me or is the M3 wearing different wheels? It almost looks like they're using 18" on it due to the thickness of the rubber, but the brakes are painted like the CCB's.

Movie magic? I'm guessing they might have cracked a few of the 19" rims going down those stairs so they had to switch to a smaller rim/thicker tire combo.

They also look like smaller brakes (probably the standard ones) with the calipers painted yellow. They other cars appear to have the ceramics.

So if they're not the 19" wheels (18" maybe?), from what I understand don't the CCB's require 19" wheels for clearance? I think that rules those brakes out as CCB's. I think they're just painted calipers.

Which leads me to think in some of the shots they're using cheaper 320i/328i modded to look like an M3 to save production costs.

Yes, CCB's require 19's. The wheels on that car actually look like 17's and the track looks to be quite narrow which could be just the wheels (off-the-rack 328i wheels) or it could be a rebodied 3-series as you asserted. They don't really look like the standard brakes either, they have a flatter face and aren't very big, nor do I think wheels that small with little offset would allow the standard brakes to fit.

I tried stopping the preview at a couple points to see if I could catch anything else but I didn't see anything obvious. They appear to be using the car(s) with the smaller wheels in quite a few scenes. Another oddity that supports that fact they may be using rebodied 328/320's is when they accelerated uphill on the street, the car squats significantly, much more so than you would think an M3 would. However, the car could have blown shocks or something from a previous scene.

I don't care too much how many cars they destroyed, its just fun picking apart how they did it. It seems like it would be more trouble than its worth to rebody a 320i--I wouldn't be surprised if they were repainted ex-press cars or prototypes of some sort. Ultimately, this is a marketing exercise for BMW so if they have to spend a couple hundred grand wrecking some cars, its no big deal, they aren't paying MSRP for them.

on a side note, Tyrol/Tirol is a fantastic region! Spent most of my ED time there, and it was great.
