Yellow Discoloration on White Car

My girlfriend has a white Cherokee she purchased a year or so ago. She got a good deal on it because it had slight discolorations on the driver's side quarter panels. The carfax showed a slight fender bender (some sort of parking lot accident if I remember correctly). I've attached pics below. The discolorations aren't uniform and I can't feel them when I run my hand over them.

Anyway, we just started looking at removing them tonight and I'm hoping someone on this forum can give us some tips on possible removal techniques. I've tried alcohol and a magic eraser but neither helped - a google search mentions a clay bar?

Thanks!

Without putting my hands on the paint does it feel gritty, this kind of looks like they used bondo filling and it is starting to show.

I can't feel it when I run my hand across it. I'm thinking they did a rush job fix and clear coated over the area... Not sure though...

If you have a kitchen fridge magnet try and see if it sticks.

If you have access to a DA polisher, that plus a compound would be a good try. If that doesn’t work, I’d say you’re done, unless you want to try wet sanding.

Magnet stuck so likely not bondo filling...

Don't have that - will likely take it to a shop I guess Thanks though!

Alternatively, buy a DA polisher kit. You’ll probably spend more at a shop than you will for a starter kit. Then you can fix your own imperfections. I would recommend the new Griots G9. Sorry typos everywhere.

Three household items you could use, one of them will definitely work. Also, these are safe for the paint (I use to detail cars).

-paint thinner
-simple green
-magic eraser

good luck!
