Front License Plate Mount

Hey looking for reviews suggestions on what front license plate mount is best... I've seen some older threads with some suggesting Carbonio (and some Sto n Sho) but wanted to get a more recent opinion from someone using one.

Thanks!

sto n sho. no problems here. I only put the front plate on when parked to avoid meter maid tickets.

I've got a Carbonio and am very happy with it. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that it's not perfectly centered since it only hooks into certain "cells" of the mesh. It's only an inch off. Not noticeable for most people but I'm OCD like that.

I really like my US Millworks. Easy to take off for car washes and no issues with PDC.

Subscribed I have the same question. I’ve done the tow hook option in the past, pretty sure it was US Millworks on my last BMW, but I’m curious about other options.

I’m a a huge fan of the Sto-n-Sho! Literally 1 second on and 1 second off. Perfectly centered and very secure.

I went with the tow hook mount. No issues after adjusting it a tiny bit to make sure the sensors don't pick it up.

I just put the sto n sho on today. It's so convenient.

The tow hook can look good at times but the off center look isn't ideal in my opinion but it's all subjective.

Last car had a tow hook but the F8x doesn't rock it as well idk why.

But the Sto n ago you have to drill a hole, the carbonio you don’t drill any holes or use the tow hook mount, plus it folds away, that’s what makes it the winner

The carbonio folds away? If it mounts on the lower grill how does it do that.

Drilling a hole that isn't visible unless you're literally on your back on the ground doesn't matter in my opinion.

It hooks and clamps onto the honeycomb grille. The part where the license plate mounts in on arms that can be adjusted.

I would suggest Sto n Sho.

I was skeptical at first since the only things that would be holding your plate is 3M adhesive and a screw that goes on the underside of your bumper. I thought it would not hold up or at least not be as solid when holding the license plate.

So far after 4 months, no problems, hold is still solid, placement is centered (I'm not a fan of the offset look of tow hook mounts), and it has gone through rain and heat with no issues.

FWIW I didn't bother drilling a hole on my sto n sho (just held on by tape) and the mount hasn't disappeared yet, 1 year later. drove through all 4 seasons without issue. just prep the area with isopropyl before you tape it on and it should be solid.

i like my us mill works holder. only thing with it is you have to mount it upside down to get around the PDC. The instructions say so. Install took maybe 5 minutes?

I was running a sto and sho for a while. Best option imo

However, I recently decided to say screw it and run without a front plate (Texas), haven't had an issue, and it's been about a year

Isn't that the point of the sto and sho? haha. I literally only put the plate on when parking in public areas. the meter maids here are like snipers and always ready to ticket.

Totally agree! I couldn’t be happier with mine and the fact that one can remove it for photos in 0.5 seconds is such a bonus. The Unseeable hole is a non-issue as well.

Here’s a shot of the mount and the 1 screw for the sto-n-sho that might be helpful.
