Sometimes it does not change to unknown until you re-load file.

Nope, not without replacing the entire headlight. I've tried many times on my 2018 M3 CS, I miss it as I had it working perfect on my old 2016.

why is this? What changed between 2016 and 2018?

I have the adaptive headlights that are included in the exec package.

That question has been asked about 1 million times over the past few years, but like I said the entire headlamp module is different. Start here https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1553056, make sure you check page 3

I attempted to do this with my Carly app and do not believe it allows me the option. I have the led adaptive headlights and truly wanted this change the most. Any insight? If I cannot with Carly, can someone assist? I have a windows or Mac laptop and cable. Thanks!

Firstly, your car must be a 2016 or 2017.

To make it work you need an OBDII ethernet cable (edit: I see now you said you have the cable) and do the proper coding with the BMW E-sys software. All the information on how to do it is on the forum here, as well as how to "get the software." It's not exactly simple, and it's easy to break stuff if you don't know what you are doing.

You might want to look into hiring someone on the forum here to do remote coding services.

Do you have an enet cable and laptop? I'd be more than happy to try to remotely code your car for the led headlights. I've never done euro mdm but we could take a look at that. If you want pm me and we can go from there

i have a 2018 F83 comp with all options, I did not have to code this feature, just put the correct headlight setting and press the left bar for signal on bottom and the headlight go high and low beam based on traffic condition or no cars in front of me or coming towards me and go automatically to low beam.

That’s only the automatic high beam function. This is WAY better

Yes, thank you for the enlightenment after reading 70 pages..

I have a 2017 build for 2018 F83 model year.. I'll have to check the hardware an see if it can be coded or not.

Any in NJ doing this type of coding?

Just got my headlights coded last week and couldn't be happier! Hit up Alex@Alpine for coding. He is amazing and can code many other features too! You will need a laptop and ENET cable since he does remote coding.

I just had my 2017 done along with full screen Carplay. Kubax86 did the coding, very smooth process considering he's overseas. Big thanks to him.

I went for a nice drive late last night did a bit of mixed driving. Shuffled between automatic highbeams on/off, lights on. Results are amazing, it's a real shame this technology is hidden from us in this country.
