2015 M3 /w Adative differences in design
So I have some questions regarding the adaptive suspension in our cars. M3 specifically.
Is the adaptive and the regular strut setup the same? What are the difference if any and how does it work? I need to know because I have a company making me custom struts and they are telling me that since I have the adaptive they cannot guarantee the fitment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Mounts are the same. There is a difference in bolt pattern on the strut tower from the 2015 to the 2016. The 2015s had a 3-bolt strut tower pattern and the 2016s have a 5-bolt pattern, but I believe this is only on the fronts. The adaptive suspension also has additional electrical connectors on in, if you had adaptive and are switch to a non-adaptive setup, you will need a delete kit. Delete kit just plugs into the connectors (all-four corners) to tell the car that it is "working."
Think that covers it. |

But yeah, to answer the original question, the mounting points are exactly the same between non-adaptive vs adaptive. The adaptive wires have nothing to do with the mounting of the struts. |
