Active Blindspot Detection Malfunction

Has anyone experienced there blindspot detection being deactivated on its own?

My active blindspot assist keeps shutting off automatically, and giving me a triangle warning on my dashboard.

Could anyone chime in on this problem if they have experienced it, or if they have any solutions to this problem?

Its becoming very annoying having it turn off during the middle of my drive all the time. It stays on for about 10-20 minutes before it says it is deactivated.

Any reason you don't want to take it to the dealer? You should be under warranty so they should be able to diagnose it and fix it for free.

It sounds like you might have a bad sensor.

Yeah I figured, just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced the samething I will probably just get the dealer to take a look at it.

Never had a problem with mine, I'm almost at the 1 year mark into ownership and about 9,000 miles on her.

Take her in and have the dealership figure it out would be the best bet, as the previous poster suggested. Good luck, hopefully it's a quick diagnosis and fix.

Just curious if you resolved the issue. My M4 just started to show the same malfunction and I am a couple of months out of warranty.
Hopefully it is not something major or expensive.

If you continually service your BMW at the same dealership, they might turn a blind eye that you're a few months out of warranty and help you out. Take in in ASAP. Also if it's an expensive repair, you can always ask BMW for a goodwill repair.

Did just that.
They did a complete software update and so far so good. Thanks, mate!

Hey guys. Is this software update going to be the March 2019 one where your ecu gets locked. Meaning the only way to unlock for tuning or flash is via Bench?

My M3 is a 09/17 build and is starting to have the same error. The malfunction error will randomly come on with no specific pattern but it’s doing it enough to where I know there is an issue. The car only has 12000 miles on it.
