F80 Lease Buyout questions, is this right?

I assumed my lease of my 2018 M3 Competition. Lease is up and they are quoting me price of $32,500 for the price? Is that correct? I have 32,500 miles so i am thinking they mistyped the numbers. What should the price be?

Also they added $700 Maintenance upgrade - what is that?

Rate is 4.99% that seems high what are people getting?

also seeing a $529.60 "non tax fee"? any idea what this is?

thanks!

$32.5k for a 2018 m3 comp with 32.k miles is actually a real good price right now I think. 4.9% interest is higher than some and lower than some, but I assume they based it on your credit?

You should buy that before they discover their error.

It should be in your lease paperwork, it's called the Residual Value.

No one is going to know your residual value without seeing your lease paperwork. You would have to find out on your own. Contact BMWFS.

4.99 is no good as they're offering 1.99 on CPO cars for 60 months. I read in a thread on here someone actually had the option to certify their leased car upon buyout and get that rate. Might be worth looking into if possible which would also extend your 4 year warranty by a year.

if your residual is 32k then your lease cost a fortune (high payments / down payment).

Anyways financing the buyout is a bit odd, you should be buying that cash with the savings of low lease payments vs finance.

It effectively converts your 3 or 4 year lease into a 7 or 8 year finance which is ridiculous.

I just purchased out my lease for my 2018 M3 Comp Tanzanite blue fully loaded (13k miles). Residual was $47k - put nothing down on the lease 3 years ago. As other posters mentioned, your lease must have cost a fortune in terms of down payments/high payments if the residual is $32k.

Also - is this your lease or someone else's? Seems odd to me that you don't have your own paperwork for your lease...and that someone is adding on costs for stuff. If you purchase your lease out directly from BMWFS it is extremely straight forward, non-negotiable, not extra fees (besides sales tax you must pay separately).

Since I did this as well, the maintenance upgrade likely refers to the BMW Ultimate Care Scheduled which extends your covered maintenance for 2 years. Thanks @GOLFRR =)

That is correct, BMW does not negotiate residuals.

correct. actually the only thing that will change the residual is MSRP, duration of lease, mileage included and program in effect at time of lease (residual % for those parameter).

Maybe this was a 4 year lease in 2017 (not sure when MY18 was released) with max mileage (20k?) and crap program (maybe low 40s residual?).

what was the msrp of a comp with no other options?

dont know that well get to 32.5k. must be typo

If you leased the car new, the residual should be about 60% of the MSRP - discounts.

Can you explain how you get the 2 years extension for your covered maintenance when you buyout your lease?

M3 residuals we're always too high and towards the end of production they lowered it significantly. I was looking at them in the summer of 2018 for when my lease was up and it was around 60%. Then in sept 2018 I think they dropped it to 55-57%. I was pissed because my lease was up in dec and payments went up by quite a bit because they also reduced lease cash. I got mine at the end of dec 2018 and residual was 57%. They did something they haven't done before which was to bump up the residual mid December and increase lease cash. My payments went down a few hundred by the time I pulled the trigger.

You can get it anytime before your warranty expires from like $800-$1200. It's their 'Ultimate Care Scheduled' package. https://bmwusaservice.com/ultimatecare
