I think the opposite would be true, since ED pricing is lower than US pricing.
Well yeah but basically you get 7% off right? And a dealer is willing to work more on a cash offer, so you get to the absolute lowest price and then two days later say you want to switch to an ED and get 7% more off?

I don't know I've never done it, but the guys in the Porsche forums say that's the way to do it for ED

No, when you make the change to ED you are now changing the agreed upon contract. You don't just get an instant 7% off. However, a good dealership will give you the same $X over invoice whether you are doing ED or US or PCD. Ultimately, you only have something to lose by playing the "switch" game. Be up front about what you're doing so you're not having to negotiate twice.

And like anything else you get good at after you've done it a few times, the part you left out would be the loading of the vehicle from Port transportation to the dealer. I was actually able to track that 3 hour drive from exact time of deportation to dealer signing for cars and even print the invoice that dealer signs with all VIN numbers delivered.

They weren't to happy when I called them out on delivery times. lol.

Now that's some sick shit, I have to admit.

Military / Diplomatic Sales

OP

When you order a U.S. Spec vehicle under Military / Diplomatic sales in Germany, you will be unable to do any tracking yourself. You have to rely on your sales reps. In my case that was Bavarian Motor Cars (Rhein BMW Wurzburg Germany)to provide tracking and even they did not have anywhere the detail of information you can get when your order a vehicle state side. Just sharing my experience.

Correct, the guide is mostly for those doing standard us/ed/pcd delivery. Cars ordered to other countries etc will not be able to apply most of this.

I'm going off of what has been said on a few documentaries and the BMW VPC behind the scenes articles. Maybe it's not the case for all ports.

ED cars occasionally have to run the US Dept of Agriculture Inspection gauntlet between US Customs and VDC receipt; ask me how I know this Stuck in Ag twice in 16 ED's... and it's the mother of all black holes.

Munich Drop-off

If you drop-off in Munich, you can email Loginout (drop-off-munich@loginout.de ) in about 10 days and they can tell you which ship your scheduled to be on.

Kline is my line and it's supposed to leave Bremerhaven on the 11 Nov and get to the states on the 26th...I hope.
