How does a non dealer get a car at an auction or for auction prices ? If a dealer buys a car at auction for $40k they are gonna mark it up of course - so I still pay more than wholesale pricing ..

I've heard of brokers who will buy cars for people at an auction for a fee - but then you could get screwed as you can't test drive , etc right. ??

True. Just hope the wholesaler has done their homework and you get lucky. If the car specs out then to save a bunch, pay his fee, is typically worth it. I have a friend who does this every time he buys he is 100% with 5 purchases at manheim.

How would one be able to know the wholesaler has done his homework?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Apparently they have information on the vehicle prior to sale. He checks out the car prior, inspects it while at the site and if everything looks ok then he bids based upon your limit. This is just the feedback that they both gave since I almost went up there once but I'm far too picky with colors, options, etc. Puts me write out of the game.

I'm curious about the value of a '17 Individual M4 purchased in 2016 with 15,000 miles currently. Extremely well kept with some new car smell still lingering.

buying my lease return at auction

my lease expiration is approaching and it doesn't make sense to purchase the car at residual value due to it's unfortunate car fax history. I assume the car will go to auction rather than end up on the dealer's lot. I'm toying with the idea of following it to auction and bidding if the price makes sense. does anyone have insights...

any idea how long it takes following lease return to auction?

what's the best way to track the car so I don't miss the opportunity?

can anyone recommend an auction broker to rep me? what kind of fee should I expect?

thx!

Unless the car is in trash condition, it’s not going to be below residual value. Have you been paying attention to car values lately?

car fax show a theft recovery with minor damage and also an accident with moderate damage to the entire right side (t boned). if the dealer sends it to action then I have to imagine it will sell below residual value - $55k.
