M3 shakes violently after startup
It's a very nice day in CT so I decided to take the M3 to work. Car drove fine on my 50 mile commute. At lunch, I decided to fill up at the local Shell gas station. On start up after getting gas, the car shook violently for a good 10 seconds then stopped. No CEL or anything. Drove back to work it was fine. Let the car sit for a bit in the lot at work and it started up normally. Never had it shake like that before. The ride home was fine. Should I be concerned about what happened? Is it normal?

We need more information how many miles are on your car what year is your vehicle have you drove your car hard recently has your car been tracked how's your car been drifted.
If you've driven your car hard lately most likely your car suffered from oil loss during the initial phase of start up it was not enough oil to lubricate the engine which caused vibration… I do know that the S55 engines have a oil pump and this is why it's so important to let the engine idle before you takeoff to lubricate the pistons. I remember reading that the club sport has two oil pumps to help oil properly lubricant the engine during hard driving. |

Did anything happen before it started to shake violently (i.e., you downshifted, etc.)? Is it shaking violently at a stop or the whole ride home?
Initial thoughts is maybe a misfire so plugs/coils or possibly the fuel system. Worse case is possibly a slip in the crank hub |

Now I'm starting to wonder if the gas that you put in was bad meaning that there was water or condensation buildup in the tank or the gas had water somehow mixed in.

Water sinks to the bottom of the car gas tank where the gas pick up is.
Also, never fill your gas tank when the gas truck is filling the station tanks.

Had a similar issues a few months back. I didn't get any codes until I removed my BM3 tune and flashed the stock map ( I didn't relock the ECU ).
Turned out to be a leaking injector that had damaged one of my coils. Replaced 2 coils and I was good to go. |

I'm flashed on BM3 CS map. I was actually wondering if the car would throw lights since it's flashed. So since I'm tuned my car won't throw CEL codes???

The gas would not have caused it on initial start up. If it was bad gas then the issue would start after the old "good" gas that were in the lines had been used. So this would talk about a minute to happen and would be a consistent thing. How many miles on your spark plugs and what is the gap? If tuened you need to replace them sooner.
