New Car (after sadly only 4 months with my M4 CP)

Morning guys, somewhat of a new member here - some of you may have recognised my post from July 2018 where I picked up an Individual Frozen Black M4 CP from a prestige dealer. It was my first BMW & first M car.

Long story short... the car was rejected back to this 'prestige dealer' due to paintwork issues on the rear quarter panel and rear bumper after a lengthy battle (almost to the point of getting lawyers and courts involved)

Anyone in the market for an M car and who would like more details and a heads up on who this dealer was to avoid - please contact me privately via DM.

YMB with SS interior. Carbon package inside and out, HUD, SLD, ICONS, Full Leather, Surround View. Pretty spec for sure...

Thanks for the update OP, I was close to using Alexanders a few times in the past including last year I almost purchased an M5 from them but it took them 4 weeks to get back to me with a video of the car then 3 just to talk numbers by which time I had purchased another car.

Your experience has really put me off considering them in the future

Sounds like you dodged a bullet mate, it's a shame as some of their salesmen, one of the managers Ben, and the logistics team were great... Top car guys who I really enjoyed meeting.

As a business they're let down by some bad management decisions, cutting costs and corners, and in particular one member of the customer relations team was using any legal loophole to avoid liability or would blackmail me with court for example (to try call my bluff) in order for me to take a lower settlement for my vehicle. I probably should've reported these members of their business to trading standards and the FCA. Illegal trade practises for sure. I'm just happy it's over and I got my money back!

I would generally never buy a late expensive car from a non franchise dealer.
You tend to have much more leverage over a franchise dealer.

Yeah, I guess you're right. My old M4 CP was one of the cheapest cars there in stock in their inventory of super cars, and I got treated like that

: salesman taking calls from a big spender customer while at the table doing a deal with me... Never again!

New M4 in Yas is looking good! Shame about that dealer I often look on their website and they have lots of seemingly nice metal but all that glitters isn't gold as they say.

We can say what we like about BMW dealerships but there is a lot of peace of mind knowing that they do have to sort you out and have the facilities to do so.

Thanks Gents! Loved the car when I had it so just knew I wanted another, was tempted by other brands and M3's too... I do love that roofline on the Coupé though

They do indeed have some nice stock - I dare say my experience was a unusual one probably the 1% of people who have had bother with them out of the majority of 5 star reviews. But when it came down to it in a bad scenario and held them accountable they had no interest in making it right and caused nothing but hassle and stress over something that was meant to be a special purchase!

Just an update to this - 16th Feb I collected the car down at Marshall BMW Salisbury. Great experience and ask for Eleanor if you're buying from them.

Straight to PCW for his best exhaust mods (my PPF car sounded muted as hell, barely any noise or burbles) much better now!

Met a chap called Tony with the San Marino M4 CP in one of the pics below
