While San Marino Blue and Frozen Dark Blue have different names, from what I gather, they both share the same coulour base coat, only the finishing glaze (clear coat) differs.

Thanks for pointing it out. Would be nice to confirm though because it's not what I recall reading.

Is your car long term or just a lease/couple of years. If short term, get whatever you like. If you go smart choice for short term ownership you will regret it. If you go 'the special' choice long term you will also regrets it. So if long term ownership my recommendation would be to go classic color and then you can wrap the car into whatever you please for shorter term. The 5k you will pay for custom color will cover you fancy wrap...

Frozen paint seems like a fad that peaked and is on the wane. Before matte wraps were ubiquitous they really stood out more.
That's my lame opinion so if you like it, do it. |

BMW has expanded their frozen paints and pallets (10 different frozen options), to now include all higher end models. The launch editions of the 850, M5, 760 and now M4 all are being sold with frozen.
Mercedes has also expanded the frozen paint option as well as Lamborgini and Rolls Royce. Frozen paints are here to stay and I would not be surprised to see a higher take rate and more main stream acceptance in the near future.

I'd equate it to more like Yoga in the early 1900's. No one really went because it was considered taboo. Now, it's part of a healthy lifestyle. To each their own.

100% Not true. Just buy the right soap and your golden. Actually easier to deal with. You don't have to really worry about swirls. Easier to dry. Less spots show. It's a joy.

I love frozen colours and I think that blue looks great. I have a frozen grey 540 and while I love it as well, I do not love the maintenance it requires. Every little nick and mark shows so obviously on them.
