So this thread just hit the news also. Next news story should be "Ibiza's offering OBDII Flashing". What's the next news story, Bootmod3?

It's been tough to keep up with as its been one after an other. Feeling is that the delevoper BMW bootloader files somehow has been 'sold' to various tuners which now allows flash tuning via the OBDII port which is significantly easier than a bench tune as the ECU had to be removed. Now all F chassis engines can be tuned via the OBDII (tuners are working on the diesels)

I belive so, most vendors are working on the 2 common M engines, S55 & S63, then on to the others.

A flash via OBD for the B58 is a little far fetched at the moment, I?m still waiting to be impressed by boot access before we enter year... 3? Of production.
Either way, great news VF ! Unfortunately can’t say the same about the demand for spare mevd units now smh |

Is this traceable by BMW after flashing back to stock?

I assume BMW can flag you a myriad of ways. To me, the question is the lengths they will go to do so if you have a warranty claim. I'd also like to know if any Hex customers who have flashed back to true stock have ever been flagged.

A significant warranty claim will activate a onsite visit by a BMW NA service tech, probably the center opening a PUMA case would cause this to occur. Events such major engine failure, transmission, etc.
