For VO Coding you select the ECU itself, not the CAFD File.

VO = Vehicle Order

VO Code = Coding of all FDL's (100% of the ECU) to predetermined settings based on the Vehicle Order.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

FDL = Function Data Line

FDL Code = Coding of individual FDL's in an ECU, overriding the VO Coding.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on the ECU CAFD and select Read Coding Data => Expand the CAFD Folder by clicking + symbol => Right-Click on the CAFD file and select Edit => Edit CAFD as desired => Click the Blue Floppy Disc Icon to Save CAFD => Click the green back arrow icon => Right-Click on the CAFD file => Select FDL CODE.
You were indeed right! I have no idea why I was pressing code instead of Code FDL. Now it worked with the HU_NBT module.

Although I'm a bit worried with the FEM_BODY module now. I'm not being able to Read Code Data from this module. This error pops up (the CADF file seems to be weirdly named also).

And you should be. You have corrupted your FEM_BODY CAFD. It looks like you hit the dreaded Code Default Values, which you should never, ever, do, else you lost power during coding.

Now you must try and inject CAFD into ECU and VO Code it.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on FEM_BODY => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from latest I-Level shown => Select OK => Right-Click on FEM_BODY (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

And is that doable? Do I need any backup? Where can I find detect caf for swe?

I did not click code default values butight have lost car power once... Geez lame mistake!

If it was not doable, I would not waste my time writing it.

Detect CAF for SWE is button in middle Right-Hand Side of Coding Module.

It worked shawn!

Successfully injected, and then afterwards even coded the Auto Start Default Off and other things inside FEM_BODY.

Thank you very much for backing me up!

Shawn

I haver the dreaded missing CAFD file message. Can't code NBT or FEM_BODY (there are probably more)

Currently have 56.2

Picked up my car yesterday from the Welt.

Can you help?

Thanks

p.s. I did manage to VO code FEM_BODY even though I couldn't FDL code it - did I break anything?

What CAFD Names?

Probably more? Do you not check?

Shawn,

I've been using 55.1 for a few months. Does it makes sense to get an updated (56.x) set of files? Will there be any backward compatibility issues? Will using the new 56.x files enable the updated "green" hub?

Thanks!

The only reasons to update PSdZData are either a) your current PSdZData is too old, and you can't read and code car, or b) you are going to update ECU firmware by flashing it.

Updated HUD falls into the latter as you would need to flash Kombi with 56.x.

Shawn,

Aside from the new HUD, is there a benefit to running 56.x?

Would you be able to PM me instructions on how to flash ECU firmware as well as the 56.x files? I've successfully done VO and FDL coding so I'm familiar with eSys, but haven't done this.

Thanks!

I am not aware of any other 56.x benefits.

PM sent.

Sorry that sounded so half baked - It was late at night in a hotel parking lot in Leichtenstein when my wife pointed out that I'd been running the engine for an hour so I had to shut down quickly and didn't get time to test everything.

Well now I have.

Are you sure you have 56.2, and not 56.1? These files are all in 56.2.

The archive on my computer is shorter than the one in your link - looks like it got currupted / truncated but I still managed to extract what looks like an incomplete data set. Looks like another late night.

Once again thanks for your help in this.

Ok, so yes this is not part of 56.3, but cafd_00000794.caf.014_040_121 is, so you can try injecting it into ECU, and using it instead.

With F010-15-03-503 I-Level and 56.2, PSdZData, you shouldn't be missing any CAFD.

I would reextract your PSdZData and replace current folder.
