Wiki for Ethernet pass thru on Hyper-V
I made this guide mostly for my own reference as it can be confusing to set up the networking for an ISTA+ virtual machine to work right and I don't use ISTA+ often enough to remember how I got this working.
Essentially, I wanted to run my diagnostics in an isolated Windows VM not connected to the internet. I have gotten this working the other way which shares the adapter with the host OS, but left that out since I didn't fully document how to do it successfully. Note there are steps at the end to restore your laptop network to normal after you are done with the guest. Anyways, hope this helps someone else. Feel free to share or repost! |

Why can't you just disconnect from your local network or turn off the WiFi in your host OS instead of using a VM?
