An F8X lowered on perfectly fitting, wider than stock 20" wheels is art in motion to me.

There is no other way to be.

It's a must. The car feels unfinished at stock height. Lowering=more planted, handles like an M should.

It is also a PITA if you don't have a good shop to do it.

I'm currently in the process of completely re-doing a MPHAS install because the shop didn't do it right. Resulting in a ton of popping and clunking noises, a strange discrepancy in height from side to side, and missing hardware.

Pay BMW to do it if you go with the MPHAS kit.

I highly suggest Emmotion Springs over the H&R if you're looking for a nice, aggressive drop.

H&R is really bouncy

I would run swift then for a more conservative drop. Usually people go H&R for the lowest they can go on springs, until Emmotion came out

Never scraped or had issues with Swift lowering springs (though a valet did), you just have to take grade changes, like entrances to gas stations and parking decks, slowly. Then, I added a front lip and now I search for gas stations and parking decks I can get into. Still, I wouldn't change a thing!

I've been stock for 2 years on my ZCP with MPerformance lip and I'll never lower my car. It's just not worth it anymore now that I'm older. Maybe if I was in my 20s and don't mind cutting angles for every curb or driveway. Just too old for that shit these days hahah

I've touching midlife age so I've been into performance cars for over 30 years. about 8 years ago I stopped lowering my cars.

A car should have good dampers with proper rates and decent spring rates that works for the range of travel you have.

on a street driven car the lost suspension travel makes your car handle worst and lose traction. as you need HIGHER spring rates to resist bottoming. As I ride motorcycles I know bottoming out is really BAD on a bike while leaned over.

excessive lowering also move your geometry out of order.

I don't want to lower my F80 as it has lower ride height already.

Definitely worth it. I’m lowered on Swift’s and have the m performance lip on my car. I don’t scrape very often, as long as I’m paying attention to the road and enter driveways at an angle. Even when I do scrape, the m performance lip seems to take quite a beating without any issue. Had it on for a few months now and it looks identical to new. You can only see a few small scrapes on the underside when the car is on a lift, but for a 390$ plastic part, I think it’s quite good.
