Just installed VRSF single midpipe, my impression after 2 days of driving

*My exhaust setup before these midpipes is VRSF catless downpipes, and stock exhaust.*
Bought this thing through Extreme Powerhouse, and it arrived I believe about two weeks after placing my order.
Because this setup is 4 pieces the box is not that big, and lugging the box in from my front porch was not too tough a task.
Sadly one piece of piping was packed too close to the outside of the box, and it was dented in transit enough that it would not slide into place with the next bit of piping in the system. I was able to get it back into shape with a rubber mallet, but of course you never want to have to do any sort of repairs on a brand new part.
Installation of this system is literally the same as the AA mid, and this VRSF product installs as advertised.
For now I am not running the mid brace until I get to Ace Hardware for some spacers, as the clearance needed between the body and the large single section of piping is easily 3/4”.
My impressions after install:
Pros
The car sounds so mean in Sport plus, I love it!
When you catch a good shift and the turbos spool just right my butt dyno says the car is definitely a touch quicker.
Cons
the catless smells are not the best when you have the windows down and pull up to a stop.
I seem to have a bit of rattling from what feels/sounds like under the shifter. I double checked all clearances, and re tightened hardware, but my belief is that the down pipes may be sitting a tad lower after midpipe install, and rubbing on the front subframe. I will be removing lower body pan to inspect this weekend.

Here is a quick vid of me revving between 2k-6.5k with the engine warm from a 15 minute drive...

I went for a drive, and after drove the car right back into the garage to inspect and re-tighten all connections. Everything looks very impressively tight and on straight.

Btw, I like your spacer setup using those nuts. Are the bolts threaded to those bolts, or is their inside diameter larger than the bolts?

They are larger, so they act like a spacer. That being said, when the car is cold, it still rubs on the brace even with those spacers. I get the annoying vibrating sound. I think I’ll just remove the brace altogether. It’s clear that this thing doesn’t fit right. I’m sure the brace has its function on track, but mine won’t be going there.

Once I remove the brace, if it’s still making noise, then it’s rubbing on the wall right where it turns after midpipes.

Like they always said, you get what you pay for. 😏

I feel like VRSF literally knocked off the AA down to the T. With that said hopefully what we got for $600, is basically the same as the product costing almost 2x that.
I know there is a brace solution being sold that just basically instead of being flat, has some bends to accommodate the larger midpipe.
Instead of removing, would you consider simply adding more spacers? I plan to experiment with spacers until I feel happy with the setup.

I've had the VRSF single midpipe installed for about a month now. I do get the annoying vibrating sound once in a while even with the spacer.

Let me know if anyone figures out a solution!

Is the vibration that bad that you would go back to stock? Mine I would describe as an occasional annoyance.
Going to be doing UUC short shifter as soon as it comes in, and when it does I am going back under my car to remove the body pan, and see if DP's are hitting subframe.

For mine it's weird because the noise is not consistent. There are days where it's more annoying, and then there are times where it doesn't even make the sound. Assuming it's the same for everyone else.

Also doesn't really matter if valves are open or closed, the vibrating will still happen. It usually happens on cold starts but i do often hear it on warm starts too.

If you've checked all your clearances I'd suggest using a gasket compound on any of the connections to ensure there aren't any leaks. An exhaust will only create vibration if it's making contact with the under chassis or if there's a leak.

Our design is similar, the same way their N55 F30 downpipe is similar to ours. We improved upon the existing design and made a point to make it more cost effective and accessible to the average modder whereas AA targets the high end consumer.

Been looking at the VRSF midpipe myself as it's hard to get AA here in the UK.

Anybody have a sound clip of this midpipe with stock DPs and exhaust? Any codes associated with removing the secondary cats?

Hi,
No codes as long as you are keeping the stock downpipe.

Expect a deeper tone without any rasp
