Odd Issue - Can’t check my oil level
For some reason I can’t check my oil level. Checked numerous times before in my garage, but now It won’t let me. The start measurement option never lights up. Went to different areas to check and still no dice. Engine was fully warmed up. I just changed my oil and put in approximately 6.5L but I always check to make sure and now I cant. Not gonna lie, its bugging me that this car didnt come with a dipstick!!!!!
Ugh any suggestions? |

It's the oil pressure sensor, I had the same issue..
The reading would go up to 50% and freeze or gray out.. More than likely, there won't be an error code to indicate a fault. |

The weird thing is that my status display still shows that my oil level is “ok”
If the sensor was broken, would that still show? |

So if last time you measured it, it was on max, it will show that until you measure it again. |

Fixed my car. Turns out it was my Bootmod3 tune. Flashed back to stock and it works fine. I Think I’ll leave it stock. Anyone interested in a licensed? Haha

Lol I was just going to ask if u have BM3 as there been a few threads about oddities like this.
From what I remember they just reflashed it again and the issue goes away for good. Always better to do PC flash vs phone. If you are happy with BM3 just flash it again with the PC. Least u know where the issue lies and the fix. Thanks for the update on the fix Similar but different https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1605943

Yea I had a low oil warning before when flashing but never thought this would be an issue or thought the two were related. I notified PTF already so hopefully they’ll figure out if a fix is needed.
Haha i really wish I just flashed back to stock instead spending a couple of bills to try and diagnose this. |

Haha no tune. Just keep it stock and maybe just do other mods. I mainly got it because I wanted burbles but After having burbles for awhile, I got sick of it. I will miss the gTS roar and disabling of rev matching though.

were you using their stage 1 ACN 91 map? cuz i just flashed my car with it, and 30mins later the oil level at minimum popped up. I know for sure the oil is not low as i put in 7 qts couple days ago and less then 20miles.

I had this happen on my old F30. Turned out that a pack rat ate through the oil sensor wiring on my car. I brought it in for service and BMW repaired the wiring (at my expense) and it worked fine afterwards.

That is usually just a bug with BM3. Contact support and they will help you figure it out. Don't add more oil till they do as you may over fill.
