I do. I live in an apt complex so there are cameras. I also try to take an end spot to at least have one side covered. No issues so far.

Me too. A well maintained ceramic coating helps a whole heck of a lot. The car also gets its own dedicated security camera from my array

I do. Live in an apartment complex. Pay 50 bucks a month for a “carport” which is pretty much just a dedicated parking spot with a roof over it. No issues.

I do. Live on the south shore of Boston and park outside year round. Just put the snows on yesterday. Have a 2 car garage but it's full of $hit. I drive daily and park outside most other destinations so why not park outside at my residence as well...? Not like I'm avoiding the elements otherwise...

When I got the house the garage was converted, I've been thinking about converting it back because I hate parking it outside -but what a pain in the ass that would be. It's just a one car garage and we have 2 cars so it might be unfair to leave her car outside as well. Would be great for working on the car though.

I guess the next question is what's the best outdoor car cover

My 370Z is in the garage while the M4 is outside. Not for long though. Once the F82 gets its last wash before winter, the Z34 is getting demoted to driveway parking.

I also strongly recommend a ceramic coating, particularly if a car is unable to be garaged. All three of our cars have CeramicPro coating and although my M4 and my wife's M3 get parked in the garage, our Z4 M Roadster lives in the driveway. I just had it coated last year. The CeramicPro makes it so easy to keep all the cars clean, but it really helps protect the Roadster from dirt and bird droppings. I keep a cover on it unless it's raining, and after a paint correction before the CeramicPro was applied, it looks nearly as good as new, not bad for an almost 14 year old car.

I had to park outside for about 10 months and I would highly recommend getting a dash cam (with parking mode) front and BACK if you do this. Also if you can, make sure your property has cameras facing where you park. The weather isn't as big as an issue as other people.

In the winter you'll be glad the car warms up as fast as it does. I rinsed the car twice a week and it stayed clean enough. Ceramic coating will probably make your life easier though

Evo gets my garage so M stays outside and it hurts to see the snow/salt and bird droppings on it. Get a ceramic pro if you own the car. If its a lease i wouldn't worry about it. Just wash the salt off after it snows and you will be fine.

Everyone makes fun of me for keeping a mitsubishi in the garage and a 80k car outside

Keep in mind though that ceramic coating (and really any paint protection other than PPF) on a 24/7 outdoors car is not going to last as long.

I'd actually recommend PPF for a car that stays outside over ceramic coating. It's a higher up front cost but it's going to last years longer than a coating. With a coating, you're going to have to get it redone every year. And that means another paint correction which is the bulk of the cost when getting a coating done professionally. With PPF they do the correction once, apply the PPF and you're good for a long time. Maybe need/want to replace a panel due to rock chips or whatever, but still going to be more cost effective over the long run.

You leave the e46 out, right? Not the GTS?

All the M's I've ever owned stay outside and I'm in the northeast. No issues whatsoever.

I do. People in my complex stick to the spots they park every day which is nice. They're not numbered or designated, but I end up getting the largest spot in the lot which is nice. So people kinda know that spot is for the purple M3. Lol. Also have dash cams setup that run "just in case".

Every vehicle I've owned sits outside 365 a year. My first BMW was a 2017 X6, never had an issue, the coldest day it fired up was -16. Currently, I have a 2020 M4 comp, same story outside 365. Cold weather is coming, I don't expect any issues.

Ok, here's a shot of all three. 2018 M3 CP (Individual San Marino Blue), 2006 Z4 M Roadster (Interlagos Blue), 2016 M4 Coupe (Sakhir Orange). Euro plates are from the 2016 and 2018 Euro Deliveries for those two cars (Z4 M Roadster was Made in America!)

P.S. Watch out for negative comments from hypercritical, judgemental, all-knowing, people who are triggered by ///M stripes on all three grilles, previously calling them "juvenile" and "something a 16 year old would do", and saying that I "ruined them". (Hahaha, haters! My cars, my choice! Don't tell me what I can or cannot do with my cars!)

^ cars look great. Except not a fan of the m stripes on the grilles. They look a little juvenile, something a 16yo kid would put on his car. Kind of ruins the front end.

Hell yeah. But hopefully it's a driveway spot and not street parking for her. If it's the latter.. that would be a savage move lol. People in LA parallel park by feel and not by sight
