For current software version it is possible to activate CarPlay splitscreen. To enable CarPlay fullscreen software update is required.

Ok, so do you recommend activate Carplay first and then update the iDrive to the last version?
I just to check it on bmw/bmw-software-update and I have available the update UPD09051

This is not an update.
Update takes 45 minutes and it’s either done through Esys or full dealer of update of the car.

Yes, you can use it for NBT2 EVO or ENTRYNAV2 Flashing. You do not need ISTA, just E-Sys, PSdZData Full, and either E-Sys Launcher or E-SysX for FDL Coding after Flash.

Will you provide additional information on how you accomplished this. I am interested in doing the same thing and have gotten nowhere with BMW Geniuses nor with the BMW Service Advisor from the dealership the car was purchased.

The car is a 2018 320i that did not have the 6CP option. It does have the ProNav w/Touchscreen. It is lacking the WiFi antenna, EBT and wireless charger.
