Wheel hub hole rough

Have a single wheel hub hole that was a bit rough, wheel bolt still goes in all the way (threads don't appear to be cross threaded) just not as smoothly. I used a tap chaser/thread chaser a few times which made a small improvement but still not that smooth. I used canned air to clean out the hole.

Anything else I can do to remedy this? Cutting tap? Figured this belongs in in this subforum, if not please move to appropriate one thank you.

Yea I'm just worried of using a cutting tap since from what I can see the threads are still there , always thought cutting taps are for cutting new threads , that's why I used to thread chaser first . Guess I'll give it a try

It should follow the same grooves if you use the correct tap, in which case it's more scraping out the grooves than fully recutting. I cross threaded a bolt about halfway in. So mine started as scraping out the threads, but also made new ones toward the backside. If you follow the treading and it screws in easily, I cant see how it could mess up the threading

Honestly it's out in the garage and im not sure. But I believe it matches bmw lug bolt thread exactly. Which i THINK is 14x1.25. Please Google that to be sure.

yea its m14x1.25, just curious what type of tap u used (https://www.cnccookbook.com/differen...uide-choosing/) ie tapered vs plug vs bottom. As mentioned earlier I used a thread chasing tap which didnt have the desired result.
