Anyone made a MT shifter of leather boot + MPerf carbon knob?
I love the feel of the MPerformance 6MT shift knob, but am not a big fan of alcantara shift boots because i feel like they just accumulate dust (plus, i don't want to get the alcantara e-brake boot to match).
Has anyone here made a similar combo / would it be easy to swap the boot?

You are correct- IND does sell it, but it's pricey for a shift boot.
https://ind-distribution.com/collect...titch-boot-set The one IND has pictured is tri-colored M stitching with leather, not sure if that's what you are looking for (although I'm sure if you asked them, they could probably do just about any stitching). I have a BFI shift knob, and was looking for a longer leather boot with silver stitching to match the rest of my car's interior. I saw the following site and decided to try it out: https://www.redlinegoods.com - significantly cheaper, but great quality - requires some DIY, but fitment was great - made to order, and shipped very quickly Based on seeing your build TouringM3 , this DIY should be a piece of cake for you. Great build and thanks for sharing your journey along the way! Here's a quick picture of the Redline leather boot with BFI shift knob that I have for reference. I'm sure you could figure it out with the M Performance knob as well. |
