I have em, done a tri on my own and many relay ones where I bike. I was an idiot and didn’t think ten miles would be that bad, whoops. I’ll stand more at least tomorrow burning more calories in the process.

so been doing that, some treadmill, some weights, plus time-restricted pescatarian eating (20/4 IF) and i'm 4lbs away from my goal weight, although my body comp isn't right so i probably need to keep losing fat and get my weight training back up. This next week I'm going to add in some HIIT and see what's up. |

I take Sundays off. So 6 days a week. Typically do a nice walk on Sunday.
I'm 6'7" and was close to 345lb when I started doing this. Probably on a crash course to a mid 50s heart explosion. Now I'm 255-260lb depending on the day and I've been able to get under the "40 inch of death" waistline my Dr always talks about. Ive always had an incredibly hard time keeping weight off so I have to keep up a pretty strict regiment. It has been worth it tho not only due to the physical health advantages but it has really changed my mental state for the better as well. |

Observations on day 13:
Started wearing a mask today going out.My breath is not as minty fresh as I thought it would be. And the mask tends to fog up my glasses. And I saw some fools with their bandannas around their necks, not over their mouths. That does a lot of good....... |

yeah, I see that neck thing too - I think they intend to wear them but get embarrassed or inconvenienced; the danger is, if you pull it on and off you risk aerosolizing the virus on the front of the mask and/or accidentally putting the front side towards your face. BTW, you probably know, but If you're getting fogging, not a good nose seal. In data news: Google local & activity reports for your area |

If you haven't already / didn't know, I'd recommend getting a coronary CT scan for your calcium score - this will tell you (more/less) if you have signs of disease progress and, if so, how much - and it's super easy to do (and fairly cheap). Docs will typically say don't do it but, imho, they're wrong because once you know your score you'll be able to calibrate and start making changes by walking down the pareto chart of causes:
credit #fatemporer, Ivor Cummins You can estimate your level of insulin resistance if you know your fasted insulin and glucose using this calculator, and if you're interested in how engineers view and treat heart disease, this is the place to start. Big thing is to get rid of visceral fat - my 2 cents, this is how people "in great shape" have heart attacks: they look skinny, have good numbers, get tons of exercise, but have lots of visceral fat. You can find out your visceral fat levels with a Dexascan or, better, an MRI. The best way to get rid of visceral fat is time-restricted eating, aka, intermittent fasting. I do a 20 hours off, 4 hours on, but I'm "fat adapted" meaning my body can run on fat (ketones) instead of carbs. If you're not / haven't tried it before, there are lots of protocols out there, but the general rule is start on 12 / 12 then 16/8 then your choice. I also bought a blood pressure monitor even though I've never really had an issue there and holy shitballs is THAT interesting! Basically any day I do at least 30 min of 150bpm exercise my blood pressure is "low" normal. If I skip exercise, even for 1 day, I go back to 120+/80+ which is "normal", but wtf is going on there?? Anyway, if nothing else, it keeps me motivated. (I do 4 readings in a row daily and average them - kinda just for fun, but now I feel like I have to. fucking data) Back on workouts - you've inspired me! - so here's how I do push-ups: * elbows 45 degrees * 3 seconds up, full extension, hold 1 second * 3 seconds down, lift hands at the bottom I can do maybe 80 in a day for now, probably 60, but ain't getting close to 100 I'm also going to add in 25 pullups. fucker.

Onion nails what the Wisconsin communist "republicans" have done (not that the dem gov is blameless):
and this kind of cowardly anti-American, anti-Democratic is what we can expect from Trumpkins in the Nov general. prediction: * Aug - trump: mail-in = fraud! * Sept - dem outrage, fed legal, state legal, healthcare, fraud facts, dem outrage * Oct - trump: ok maybe ... well it's too late now for the states to set it up |
