Speaking of exclusivity - there are loads of C63s near where I live (obviously its been around a while, but there's been a fair few since 2008). Not an M4 in sight

Optimistic here are we? I remember a long time ago you posted about wanting to get rid of the 35i when it was a couple of months old. It certainly lasted you a little longer...

I doubt there's going to be any big change in terms of discounting. The M4's current bmw contribution stands at 0. I suspect there might be an interest rate drop..

I am expected to collect my car around 2 nd or 3rd of April. If by then the rate has dropped i would ask the dealer to apply the new rate. Am hoping that's possible as I don't sign finance papers till collection date

Not possible mate they changed the rules, you will have to stick with q1 figures, even if you collect in q2
Sounds as if you've lost a pretty sum to change!!!!!!?.

Hi, can you expand on this a bit?

I'm in a similar position, car ordered last month but not due until Q2. I'd be hoping to get whatever the Q2 offer is(assuming it's an improvement on Q1!).

As the order is for the car only, nothing to do with the finance, what is it that's changed?

If the Q2 offer was £5k deposit contribution(unlikely I know) and the dealer refused to offer me that I'd be cancelling my order and going to another dealer. Surely the dealer knows that's what would happen?

My current car was ordered in Q4 and Delivered in Q4... Between signing on the deal, and receiving the car, BMW increased the contribution. The dealer was able to cancel the paperwork and apply the new rate on the new papers. There was finance involved.

I appreciate this is a different scenario as it's a different quarter and I see where you are coming from... If they offer me quarter 2 deals then surely they're not supposed to apply it to an earlier Quarter and if they did then my car wouldn't/shouldn't count as Q1 sale.

Sounds like I've focked my self! Lol however I genuinely believe my deal was good from reading up what others have been offered and whatever incentive they're going to bring up, it would probably bring it online with my offer.

Doesn't it only count as a sale when the car is registered/delivered?

Correct, my car is due on 31.03, I have agreed with the dealer in advance should there be a delay of a couple of days, I would allow them to register the car on 31.03 and collect in April providing it does not exceed a week.

Verbal agreement.

Hi. I'm new to this forum and in the market for an M4 Coupe, so threads with M4 + discount are of interest!

I've had a couple of £55/ 65k cars in the last 8 years (997 C2S and an XKR cab) and so my focus on the M4 is avoiding paying the full price and experiencing rapid depreciation particularly when there might be deals in the near term (like the M5 and M6).

Anyhow I've reached out to a couple of dealers in the context of BMW UK support for deals. Their view is nothing is forthcoming (which I disregard anyway) but I got the sense from one that 5% is achievable if they have one in stock and you're willing to move fast.

I have noticed an update to the BMW Retail Offers today - a ca £1,200 contribution and I think the APR has fallen by 2% to 4.9%. Not enough to tempt me given I only get 1% interest from my savings account.

I think Apr 1st is the start of Q2 so I wonder if that means there are no better offers for the remainder of the quarter?

Yep, the Q2 deal is for the whole of the quarter. Nothing to stop you negotiating with a dealer for a better deal but the Q2 offer is the stock deal available to everyone as a starting point.

I doubt you'd be able to negotiate anything different/better from a finance perspective as BMW intentionally want it standard for every customer but nothing to stop you trying to hammer down the purchase price.

That makes sense. I guess you can only go so far eating into the dealers margin, and you're really looking for BMW UK to push sales with their own contribution and/ or better finance rates. At least if they did, it would encourage me to deal.

Try these guys

These guys may help you negotiate a discount.
I have used them and got a good deal, but even if you print out a quote and challenge your dealer it may help.

Thanks. Going through their website, it looks like a ca 5% discount which I'm led to believe from other comments can be readily achieved. I've completed my details to see what they come back with.

Hi,

I came out of F30 335d xdrive at end of March, speced new and less than one year old into an M3.
Bought dealer stock car so not my spec choice but only 15 miles on clock and hadn't been in showroom, some of those miles were my test drive as well.

Started discussions two weeks before quarter end, and got to £6,500 off list and walked away as couldn't justify it. They needed to sell 45 new cars from stock at that point.

Went back on 27th March, they still needed to sell some cars to hit target and said they didn't need to make money on it as the Q1 sales bonus from BMW would cover it if they hit their sales target.

They gave me £8500 off in the end, bought me out of my car at a good price considering they had an identical one on the books so I drove the M3 away that afternoon.

You can't justify what I did, that's not the point, you either want an M car or you don't.

Personally I'd wait until next year if you're after big discounts. They will come , all M suffer bad depreciation and after the honeymoon period is over BMW always give huge discounts.

Why wait around until the car you desire becomes too common because of discounts, when you could have it now and gain exclusivity of being one of the rare ones on the road...

I guess exclusivity comes at a premium.

Smile

Ordered mine late Friday afternoon. All the spec on my 'must have' list plus some 'nice to haves'. 8 miles on the odometer, pre-registered 31/3 and kept inside the showroom.

I had been keeping an eye on the level of BMW discount and finance deals (as per the M5 and M6), but felt my deal was good enough and I might be waiting a long time for a better factory deal, plus delivery time.

Will collect this week when I can get away from work.

Spent the entire weekend prepping my Boxster S and girlfriends Audi A4 cab for sale.....

Congratulations, what spec and colour? Dealers always push for stock and quite often the discount boundaries are much higher than factory order which is good

I have been considering an M4 as my retirement car...although I will be 50 and want a car for track and European excursions.
The M4 or new C63 seem to fit the bill.

What sort of depreciation has been projected on the new M4 or what figures are you likely to achieve if bought cash? It's either buy cash or get into a PCP deal but APR's still are high at 4.9% .

I would like a slow burner and have been looking at used performance cars which have already lost a shed load. GTR would be ok for just me but I don't think the missus would enjoy it.

Another contender was the the GTS or GT4 Cayman but it maybe a touch too hardcore not for me but still a special weekend / track weapon.

Any striking deals around on M4's?

Ive just put a deposit on an M3 at Lloyd BMW. Dealer stock car, due in the end of May. They gave me 9% discount and swallowed £2k of negative equity in my M135i. So all in all about £7.6k discount.

Luckily it was pretty much the spec I would have chosen plus a couple of extras I might not of ticked:

Yas marina blue
Black extended merino leather
Heated seats front
Dct 7 speed transmission
19" double spoke alloy
Steering wheel heating
Armrest/slide adjustment
Black chrome interior
Aluminium blade interior
Sun protection glass
Seat heating rear
High beam assistant
Adaptive headlamps
M head up display
Speed limit display
Harman/kardon surround sound

Cooper BMW, my usual dealer and who gave me a pretty shitty deal on a used M3, are now clamming to get my business back, so who knows, there may be more -£££ in the offering.
