On 275/35/18 square NT01s... Handful of potential high 1:56s according to predictive lap time but ruined by traffic or small mistakes... definitely dipping into the 1:56s next time. Will post the 1:57.5 video from today when I get a chance.

Turned out my rear right compression setting was at a max and my rear left compression was 1/2 of max. Realized this the other day and adjusted them accordingly. Completely different car now, much more tame than before especially with turn 1 and bus stop (left hand turns).

Car: 2016 BMW M3 Competition Package DCT
Track: NCM Grand Full
Organization: ChinTrackDays
Best Lap Time: 2:23.78s - Personal Best
HLT Virtual Lap: 2:23.26s

Mode: MDM On, Sport+ vehicle settings
Tires: Bridgestone RE11s (3rd event)
Brakes: Ferodo DS1.11 (Endurance)
Alignment: TCKline Camber Plates (front: -2.6, 0toe; rear: -1.7,0.8toe)
Experience: 2nd time at NCM w/M3, 11th event overall, immediate-level

Another successful event with ChinTrackDays (Chin Motorsports). Second time at NCM with the M3, but first time with the camber plates and extra camber. The car felt faster than my laptimes suggest, but I'm still happy given this was the first event of the year. A set of R-compounds or RE71's tires would probably squeeze a few more seconds out of the car, maybe a little more camber would help too. For reference, I went around with an instructor-driven C7 GS that was running 2:19ish, and a C7 & C6 Z06 that were within a few seconds of my lap times (immediate-level). Not too bad for a 4-door sedan!

The PFC08 were great! I did have a little bit of shudder as I was braking them in during the first session, but they were smooth as butter after that. Definitely had more brake than I had tires. They can easily trigger ABS.

NCM Grand Course with MVP

Track: NCM Grand Course

Laptime: 2:14.45 (1sec faster than current TT3 track record)

Event: MVP , just testing new front aero and suspension
Laptimer: Harry's with OBD and GoPro
Tires: Old set of A7 315/30 rear and 295/30 front from last year (good enough for testing)

It was my 1st time at NCM. I love that track, very technical and has some tricky sections to get right. It might take me a couple times to squeeze everything out of the car. There are 2 more sec on the table. I think a time below 2:12 is possible with my TT3 racer.

(and just to clarify from a previous post a C6 Z06 will be at least 2 to 3sec faster than an F8x or E9x car)

Nice lap! Looks like you could shave some time off that like you said. NCM is one of my favorites now, definitely good for properly set-up racecars too.

If clarifying from my post..I would agree. I was merely stating what the immediate-level guys were running around me. C6 Z06 is definitely faster than the F80.

Camber plates - yes, forgot that. -2.2 both fronts.
Bought the pirellis from a used tire guy. Best guess 6 or 7th cycle. They didn't have much speed left in the next run.

Lol! Just noticed they didn't even put my fastest lap of the day up. It was the first lap of the first session (even before setting tire pressures), 1:57.9.

Congrats on the PB man, 1:54 is flying. I'm not sure how close I can actually get to my best rolling lap, but if I can get close, one of these days I'm coming for you on NT01

All the F8xs I've seen at socal track events are getting smoked by the e9xs, I definitely need to step my game up. Seeing you and Alex on the BFG R1s make me wonder what times I'd turn on those... maybe one of these days I'll upgrade. I think the R1s' would make a bigger difference on a F80 with all the torque it has. If I do upgrade, you'd better watch out

I'll be on pirelli slicks then lol

I'm just scared on f80 r1s would last one day with all that torque.

These tires are like crack. Get em. So addicting and fun. No more drifting for me

Experience: fourth track day, first one at Spa

There may have been a faster lap recorded, but my lap timer and Go Pro were having trouble tracking the GPS signals. Only two cars passed me the whole session - a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and a formula car, so I'm pretty happy with my pace. Oh, and Eau Rouge is INCREDIBLE. Having brake ducts helped allow me to push every lap, whereas some cars had to do cool-downs.

...and some bonus footage of the end of my session.

Nice vids)
Never heard of anyone doing rear break ducts on an f8x, assumed it was redundant as rears get very little load (I have went through 3 sets of front RS29s and my first set of rears still looks like new)
Care to share pics of both front and back duct setups?

Monza is my home track, and it tortures all of the brakes. Because I leave the car in M Dynamic Mode, the rear brakes get a workout keeping things stable on the long corners. I've actually distorted one of the rear caliper piston dust boots due to the heat, so ducts front and rear are a requirement. I was glad to have them at Spa as well, given all of the downhill braking zones.

Here's the thread with the DIY for the ducts:
