It’s interesting…..
…I don’t drive my 992 a lot (…I just hit 4700 miles this weekend after 2 years of ownership), but when I do, I’m reminded of how crazy fast the C2S actually is. It’s so much fun to drive. After we finished coding the AeroKit Monday, my buddy who has a 992 TT/S and a 992 GT3 remarked how surprisingly fast the C2S is. He had never ridden in a regular Carrera prior to my car. The pics below were taken in his hanger next to two of his personally owned fighter planes; he has 4 or 5. |

Thanks G! She has come a long way and is 75% complete. Once my seats arrive I will be done modding and I’ll just enjoy the drive. It took five big/major mods to get me to that happy place.

Damn, now that’s ballin! Looks like F-5s or T-38s. If people remember the first Top Gun, the “MiG-28” never existed and were F-5s. Are you friends with Tom Cruise?

Currently I’m not a huge fan of the 4V BWs TTV6. There is nothing wrong with it, just not that particularly interesting. The rest of the car is so good though it covers up that aspect. GM/Cadi missed a huge opportunity to be very unique in the segment by not putting a version of the N/A LT2 in it. That would’ve been a home run and it would’ve had more power etc. Weight/size is amazingly similar as well. I know this is sacrilegious, but I didn’t find the 992s 3.0 TT flat six very interesting. It’s like the rest of the car in that it is amazingly efficient and great at what it does, there was just no fun drama for me in it. You hit it and all of sudden you are going 100 mph with little sound etc. I’ve said it before, that car/engine are exceptionally good at everything it does that to me it was almost boring. I screwed up by having the N/A 4.0 before in the Cayman before having the 911s. I can see why everyone lusts after the GT3 (RS or not). Or of course the GT4/RS etc. Please don’t hurt me Sedan_Clan |

S65 with a tune and catless exhaust is my all time favorite. I have an S54 in a Z4M Roadster which is great, but I think it doesn't touch the V8 IMHO. I've driven an E60 M5 V10 and didn't think it was heads and shoulder better than the S65, but I do realize the E60 weighs more so that could skew my perspective. Second place would be the S55. I had it in my M2C paired with the 6MT which I liked, but after I drove the M4 GTS, I was SOLD. What an absolutely crazy combo! Other notable engine for me is the B58. Have had a few for daily purposes and it just does everything so well.

2. 458 italia 3. S54 M3 my old celica gts with the 2zz-gte was also fun. revved to 8200 and you could feel the 'vtec' changeover. GTR was a powerhouse but honestly that engine didn't have much character and sounded like the typical VQ. S55 is similar, makes good power throughout the rev range, but thats it. worst engine would probably be the scion FRS. didn't like the subaru warble and the huge torque dip.

I won't lie and say, if a good opportunity came for a 911, it checked the boxes and I HAD room somewhere for it, I won't take it. I do not want to have something more expensive than my current 4RS which between all the members here on the sub-forum here, totaled up to $340k (give or take). Some stuff added higher than what I had expected it to be. If there is one engine I want to have that you can no longer get it new, is the TTRS, I mean the Audi lol. I kind of want to have that unique Audi 5 cylinder. The RS3 doesn't really do it for me, I want the TT RS but... no room. I always just preferred 6 cylinder engines and never owned any cars with a V8. I honestly don't know if I would choose the GT3/GT3RS engine over the 718 GT4 engine but they are very close in terms of how good they are, think people tend to choose the GT3 engine just because it is a GT3 engine. 1. GT4RS 2. GT4 3. M3/M4 S55 Considering how my journey started compared to the rest of you, most of this is more recent. I don't mind the B58 or N55 but compared to those? Can't place them up here.

I never had an e chassis M car, however, I can say that there was something completely different and special about the e82 and e92 I had. Both were N54. The 1 was a hoot and the 3 was sublime. From a BMW perspective, I think anyone who knows, knows you'll always be chasing e39/46 design and build and material quality and e8/92 dynamics. Not that the e39/46 had bad dynamics!
