Started getting a soft brake pedal on the fourth track day, I guess the OEM fluid wasn't cutting it anymore so changed over to RBF660 before the last, fifth event several weeks back. Definite improvement, quite obviously... But it's all part of the learning curve for me.
Last even was dry, finally, after the last two that were wet and greasy. It's racing season now so no private track events until September. And can't travel to Nordschleife or Spa due to corona. Maybe next year.

I've seen only two G8X in the wild so far, and both of them, one M3 and one M4, were at a track day I attended. Great to see them being put to good use

I'm getting closer to just buying a Miata or 86 and just sending it. I'm holding back too much in the F80, I don't feel like I'm progressing.

My hesitation: I hate getting passed. Unless you are L. Hamilton (or Shadow) behind the wheel of a spec miata it's invetitable. I take great pride in passing Tom, Dick and Harry in their Stuttgart specials. |

I'm with you on getting passed and passing the GT3's and Lambos of less experienced drivers. I love it. However, I do feel like my times are sometimes more about the car than the driver. And if I'm in a Miata getting passed, no big deal, it's a Miata... but when a Miata or GT86 passes me in the F80.... different story, lol! I keep hearing owning a Miata just makes you a better driver. I can always get a faster car later anyhow.

I owned a ‘92 Miata with a lot of track parts on it, taught my 16 YO son to drive a stick with it. Every time I take a pass from one on the track in my M2/4 I know it will be a chase through the upcoming corners!
The car had coil overs with adjustable dampers, a Greddy turbo & Intercooler and a aftermarket LSD. And some other good stuff. My son burned some 11’s with me in the car.

Replacing our oem dampers was the game changer for me, confidence immediately grew with proper footwork underneath me. It also makes you realize just how under-performing the oem dampers are vs other aspects of this car. Fine-tune a future damper change with a track spec alignment, front monoballs & rear toe arms. This will provide you with that extra 10% in feel/confidence! Tracks with no/few walls are your friend as well, they mentally allow you to push & in turn, learn. If possible find a track/hpde org with low attendance or more available track time…sometimes this is achieved through the more 'exclusive' track events… Just some random thoughts!
