Yeah, well, just don't roast the G8X too much or you'll get banned like a bunch of us did. Besides that, this forum isn't a bad place. The irony is they banned us bc they knew we were right. Hopefully it will drive better than it looks.

Yeah exactly ...head over the the corvette forum as a new owner and roast a corvette, and see how that work out for you most of those guys just keep buying corvettes year after year and don't even realize there are actually other great cars that exist but they all consider themselves "car guys".

I roast the Vette a little bit on there too. The amount of people that get C7Zs and C7ZR1s in the dumpster fire 8-speed auto should tell you that most of them aren't car guys. Even have a post in the track forum talking about how much better the chassis and cooling of the F82 is. Couple of guys that replied in that thread even have an F82/F80 as a daily. I despise brand loyalty - until someone starts giving me cars for free; no mercy on the roasting. |

I have very few issues with corvettes in general its some of the folks who own them I have the problem with. And yes brand loyalty is a pet peeve of mine that's one of the reasons some of those fellas get under my skin.
Quick story ...there was a really nice gal on the corvette forum who owned a nice C7 GS 2lt ( OR maybe 3lt can't remember ) and she decided to sell it and buy a M2 and man! the stupid comment's wouldnt stop she just got beat up on. It was disgusting and NOT 1 positive remark about BMW's just a rip fest mostly because everyone posting negative comments has ever driven a M car or BMW for that matter. |

But yeah, no surprise. Camaro6/Rennlist is the same thing which is why I prefer this place. I still crack up every time someone asks if the tire pressure was off 1 psi in threads like this. |

last corvette comment I promise
before I bought my Z51 I test drove a gorgeous 2018 Watkins glen gray Z06 3lt w/the Z07 package but it had the 8 spd. That thing got up to 230-240 coolant temp and crazy high oil temps in 15 min of street driving, what a disappointing car that was. man...its to bad the C7 didn't have a DCT. The 7MT is where its at anyway. Ok...sorry for the major derail. |

My coolant is pretty good, even at Sebring in the heat - running it all day they never went over 225/230F. But even with my M7, the oil and trans temps are crazy. On that same day at Sebring, my trans got to 260F and my oil 285/290F. My M4CS didn't even go over 200F at 100+ F at Limerock Park. |

2015-2018 warranty extension and upgrades for cooling The fact that GM issues a bulletin for "Certain 2015-2018 model year Chevrolet Corvette Z06 vehicles may have a condition where the vehicle may overheat and enter a reduced power mode when driven on a track at sustained high speeds in high ambient temperatures" is awesome. As opposed to my M4CS owner's manual telling me that driving the car on race tracks is forbidden and will not be covered by warranty. (This isn't just a BMW thing, almost every manufacturer - including PORSCHE - does this.. although they leave it open ended by asking you to contact your dealership to find out what will be covered) Meanwhile, the Vette comes with a "track preparation" guide and additional parts to install (brake cooling ducts, deflectors, aero etc) before you go and covers everything under warranty. |

No larger truth in the land. The shit is cancer to society.
99.9% or more of the crap you see are outright lies, and it gives a voice/platform to an infinitesimal lunatic minority to spread their degenerate shit all over the planet. Tech should have progressed no farther than flip phones, I'm dead serious about this. Last edited by NickyC; 12-24-2020 at 09:19 PM.. |
