Laguna Seca-Ferodo Pads

I’ve got my Laguna Seca track day coming up in three weeks. I have the AP Essex front brake kit running the Ferodo DS 2500 street pads currently. When I ordered the extra DS 3.12 pads when I bought the brake kit the intent was I would use those for track days. The issue I have is the bedding process. Not sure I can do a proper bedding procedure prior to taking the track. I will be driving the car to the track. What is the consensus here of how the 2500 pads would compare to the 3.12 pads? Would they be significantly better? I will be there both Sat and Sun. Thanks guys.

You’re going to roast the 2500 at LS. Swap the pads at home, let the race pads abrade any material off during your commute.

If you can find an empty stretch of road in route, run back to back 80-20s (5 times) to get some heat. Otherwise just build speed in the first session.

Yeah, I wouldn't run DS2500s at LS. I also wouldn't worry too much about trying to bed in the DS3.12 either. Since you're coming from SoCal, if you put the DS3.12 on before you leave and drive up on them, that'll be plenty of time for them to remove any DS2500 transfer layer by the time you get to Laguna. The pads will bed themselves over a lap or so anyways.

Thank you. I will swap them out for sure. Can’t wait to get back onto the track especially with the new pavement.

DS2500 won't work if you are fast, i tried them even with cooling and didn't work...
