I have wanted an M3 -coupe since i could remember. going on for 14years. since i got my car. i made it a mission to position myself in to being able to purchase an M3, now known as the m4 when i was able to. to say the least i am very displeased in every aspect of the way my car has gone down. from the ordering process to the quality of the vehicle. I have owned my car for little over a year and to say the least i probably will never purchase a BMW ever again. i have owned similar vehicles that i feel are better in many ways.
the sales group i dealt with at the dealer were very rude and didn't believe anything i said. asked for the order number or whatever it was so i can call the 1800 number to check on vehicle status vs having to call the dealer daily. tried to make everyones life easier, but they would said that # and concept did not exist. i had to talk to the sales manager to finally get it after 3 weeks of arguing with my sales man. i know this is dealer specific and not BMW as a whole. i have had many issues with my car too. The car rattles like a 1980 VW. i have taken it for repair under warranty 5 times and fix works for a few weeks then the rattle come back. Area behind the back passenger seats rattle, pillar when driver seat belt rattles, the top of dashboard rattles. the list goes on. My driver side butt warmer actually shorted and caused my seat to burn - had a black burn mark on driver seat. My car smelled like an ash tray for over a month. Took almost 2 months for them to be able to repair, since the vehicle was new and leather was not readily available to get. they repaired this after some time. regardless i was not able to use my butt warmer for the winter months, which honestly is the only time it is slightly needed in Texas. My Nav screen would constantly "lose signal". The screen would randomly go dark and just read "NO SIGNAL" on the screen a couple of times a week. i took pics on my phone since it did not happen regularly. took it to dealer and showed them pic. they refused to work on it since they could not repeat the issue on their end even though i told them it does not happen often but showed them the pics. i had to fix the issue myself, which was simple. disconnected the battery - left it unplugged for a few minutes - reconnected. Speakers when listening to radio, cd player or whatever causes to get a high pitch squeak from speakers. especially when listening to talk radio. not like i have it blasted -i have it at 40% power and still happens. Leather on seat is very delicate as well. I wear dress pants 95% of the time when im in my car. i get in to ensure i do not rub against the bolsters. yet the bolsters seemed VERY damaged for being a 1 year old car. this actually looked very bad 4 months after ownership and the dealer had the blemishes and "scuffs" as they called them painted. they have already came back. the scuffs are on the piping of the other section of the bolsters. I dont think this should happen on a 1 year old car seat. Especially if i am ensuring i get in carefully and wear items that do not cause damage to seats like jeans with rivets and metal pins. to say the least, the car is the funnest car i have owned. i love the DCT, i love the way the car drives. Performance wise, and the excitement i get when driving the car is a top 2 car i have been able to drive in my young life. i have driven quiet a bit of amazing vehicles being lucky to come from a family that love sports cars. Driven Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, etc etc. The major issue i have is the quality of the vehicle is just NOT up to par for a vehicle of this stature and price. i expected much more from BMW. I think the majority of us will fall more under an always grateful never satisfied situation. of course the M3/4 is a great car and a hoot to drive but we are always going to have that itch for what comes next.

I think you're right. I'm just thinking about making that leap sooner rather than later, before the really good NA drivers cars are no longer available new. There will still be high-tech M cars available for the foreseeable future.
