retrofit homelink
is it posible to retrofit homelink to a F83 M4 cabrio?
as far as i can see this model never came with this option. on my e46 i have this option, and miss it in the F83. someone nows more ? canit be implemented to the f83 cabrio. |

The Homelink circuit is built into the mirror. In the USA it is more or less "standard equipment". My BMW in the Netherlands did not have the Homelink mirror. To get that capability you would have to change to a mirror with the correct option.
Alternatively, you can use a standard Homelink remote and connect two extension wires to a momentary switch, which you can mount in the armrest or under the dash out of site. This is what I used in my first E39. Worked like a charm.

As long as the F83 has the same mirror as the other F80/F82 you can buy a mirror for the F10 with the same options u need for your car - there u can get a mirror with homelink integrated...
You cant use the US version in Europe - they use different frequencies... |
