I'd love to have that same shifter, but I am not going to spend $400 on it. Sadly, there were not many options for us "manual shifters", as only 15% of the entire F80 production line were made in manual transmissions (5,426 were manuals and 29,251 were automatics). I need a new one myself, but don't want some random cheap shift knob which clearly doesn't belong.

I have that shift knob and it made a 100% difference in the feel of the shifting. It's lower and heavier and significantly reduced the rubbery feel. I'd just buy the one on your link. It's gonna be hard to find anywhere else.

He can’t even buy that one it only fits 2 series cars the one for the 3 series/m3/4 are much more expensive around 600-700 iirc and are very rare as they are discontinued.

I did not realise he linked for the M2. The same one for our car is amazing. I guess I'm lucky to have got mine for $350 from a dealer online.
