Really happy with the monster hunter series by Larry corriea,
Also the “Expeditionary force” series by Craig alanson. Both series are on audible.

Pick both: Ender's Game or Old Man's War.

If you like Florida adventure then DEFINITELY Randy Wayne White's Doc Ford series - my wife calls it 'dick lit' but they're good easy reads.

I never could get into dune, or the Rama series. I do love Niven, Henelein, and Weber
