MSR Intakes- Retune after install???
I'm currently FBO (minus intakes) running Pure HFs with a custom 93 tune from Cary Jordan. When first tuned, i had the stock air boxes (with nothing removed)... However, i just picked up a set of MSRs that i plan on installing this weekend. Now for the magical question...is it worth throwing her back on the dyno for adjustments to the tune? Or will i be fine as-is? His suggestion was to do some data logging to see if there were any changes that would justify dyno time (which i never done street logs before mind you). I'm just curious to see if anyone on here has experienced any significant changes after installing MSRs that would justify dyno time. My initial reaction is "they're just intakes, it's not going to make any difference other than sound" ...but I'm sure you know the claims of MSR being best of the best and actually showing difference in performance over the others. Plus I'm sure stock intakes were probably restrictive with the initial tune. Feedback's appreciated

I do a similar switch from OEM+BMC back and forth to MST with my Paul E85 tune. No changes needed in my map. If your tune is real hot you might get MAF Implausibility errors (no biggie, just clear em) with under hood cones, if they flow insanely good.
If you want to be sure, log a 4th gear pull from 2.5-7K RPM and watch STFTs as you get to 7K. If they go far above 1.1 send me the log and/or tell Cary.

That is to speed up the adaptation process so you are getting full vale out of the upgrade. You actually could do that after every bolt on to help the DME adapt for full power. You can delete adaptations at anytime if you are tuned and every time you re-flash your adaptations are zero'd out so you start over......

So are the MSR intakes considered effective now? I remember a time when the only validation was "malaka send us an email and we'll show you videos of us smoking cars without the intakes."
