So for ED, does the BMW factory/prep center install the temp European lic plates with drill holes and if you specify that you absolutely do not want them on final delivery to the US, will they replace the bumper (or perhaps a whole lot simpler, simply attach the front European plates without drilling holes!)?
They use double sided sticky tape. No damage to the bumper.

Suave is right. I just want to mention if some folks are really OCD, they're not going to fix really really minor things. I just wanted to share an option for those who intend theirs to be a garage queen . However, the Allianz insurance + the repair policy is great (at least on paper and anecdotally).

The liner stuff I was talking about is along these lines - they sell one packs which would be more than enough: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Con-Tact-...8-06/202499901

I use the liners mainly because it's much easier to get the rubber and grime off after a track day. I don't think we'll need it though - unless the Speed Bee has other ideas for us

EDIT: Also, regarding the front bumper plates, they use 3M double side tape as was mentioned earlier. You can just take the front plate holder (which they put in the trunk) and tell your CA to not have a replacement installed.

I would hate to get my car state side with some euro rock chips
Heading over to the local Griots dealer today to grab some cleaning supplies.

Hey guys, I have a quick question I am hoping someone can answer: Does the price we pay to run on the tracks cover our insurance?

Please use group ed email for these types of questions. However we will cover during next conference call as it's not a simple answer but we have talked about this before.

One more week until my flight! Will be the longest week of my life...

Time to start dancing to the weather gods. I think June is the wettest month of the year in Germany.

Whatever the URL shows: it's wrong! Using the German forecast provides something to more look forward to
June usually is dry and quite warm. I think on the average even July is more rain.

Nice, that's better! I'll still dance to the weather gods...

And I didn't know it would get that warm. Good to know for packing purposes.

Just returned from BMW dealership with @elphilly for final signing day before we leave next Thursday for the Group Ed Trip. We got some very nice gifts from the dealer and they are just as excited as we are about this whole trip! Packing begins today!

Yes sir! Shorts during the day and a light jacket for the evenings is all that is needed for most of trip. It will be colder when we hit the Alps so dress a little warmer for that.

So my GoPro is ready with 4 Batteries and 128GB of Micro SD cards (Good for ~8hours of recording time).

Question is, do I pick up one more 64GB card for the trip?

New to the forum. I will be picking up my M3 at the Welt 23 Jun at 0900. Looking forward to seeing all the other enthusiasts. I ordered Mineral Gray Metallic, Black Leather, Executive, DCT, Adaptive Suspension, and 18" Rims. This will be my 3rd M3. I had a 1990 E30 and currently own a 2002 E46 which I am keeping. Looks like you have a great adventure planned. I will have my wife and kids with me so no track time. However, they will be doing the factory tour.

I would like to thank Ben Allen of BMW of Annapolis for making this happen. I think he is almost as excited as I am. He is a true M enthusiast.

I want to share a recommendation with those of you traveling with family. Ben suggested I bring my suitcases in and check that they all fit in the trunk of a 335. I would hate to get there and have bags in the back seat!!!!
