Nbt evo without dvd drive

I have dead nbt hard drive needs replacement. I have purchased a nbt evo from eBay (from mini) that does not have an optical drive. Fortunately it has a gps connection on the back.
Does anyone know if an optical drive can be added eg from older nbt unit?

You would need to add one piece of hardware and inside and also code it properly.
There is really no need to add DVD drive - who use it anyway?
