I believe these to be ps2 hf “v2”. Basically they’re using the hf centers and just getting housing exhaust and compressor made new so they don’t need cores. They’ve replied to a couple of my emails (not all) about the pure 1000. They basically said they’re testing the housings which a set or two have been out in the wild. They also said they’re not sure if my ps2+ gen 2 center would drop right into the new housings because they MAY change a thing or two. Honestly I think a company just needs to make a whole new turbo with larger exhaust housing/ manifold to not choke the car.

Cool to see this product launch, but for the price of hybrids and back pressure related issues with the OEM manifold past 30+psi / 700+whp on a stock motor. Single turbo is the way to go, even with a log manifold. Better sound and far more power potential with increased efficiency going with a Garrett or Borg Warner turbo.

How’s it been for single turbo and emissions?

For this reason they decreased the size of the compressor wheel.

In CA single turbo is out, if you get caught, a referee visit will set you back big time. If you reside in FL or other states without smog, single turbo wins all day, everyday

I can’t comment on that, the state I’m in luckily requires no emissions.

Yeah, likely would have some issues I’d imagine. Passed with a stage 2 tune last year (FBO with AA cats), which was nice. Grew up in San Diego, so definitely happy to not deal with carb anymore.

I'm also a resident of Vegas, and from my experience, they conduct an OBD check for emissions testing. As long as your vehicle's monitors are set to 'ready' and there's no active check engine light, you should pass the emissions test.

Please note, this is just my personal viewpoint and not a legal opinion. I'm not an expert in this area. For a completely legal perspective on smog regulations, it's best to consult the state laws.

On a single turbo, several sensors get turned off for tuning. I'm not sure what those sensors will show on OBDII scan? I'm sure a "not ready" will probably be in due to single bank tuning or not. Would be nice if someone with a single turbo car can check OBD2 and see what's there?

Sounds like it would be similar to a stage 2 tune except pre and post cats on one bank likely show up not active and/or not ready.

Have either of you passed NV smog with a tune suppressing the catless downpipe check engine light?

No, I passed with AA downpipes and stage 2 tune. I didn’t want to deal with that, so opted to jump up to the gesi cats.

I don't use catless, I had the Active Autowerke catted downpipes, and never had any issues with emissions.

Anyone seen any installs, yet? Saw Pure posted a shop doing one, but haven’t seen anymore on their site or IG.

I haven't seen anything, the marketing/release on these 800's is poor on their part, referencing PS2's and other dyno sheets

It's still too early to judge, this part just got released. I'd give it 3-6 months for reliable feedback from customers.

Info is definitely lacking. They need someone to spend the day updating the listing and making sure distributors have the correct info on their side. I will say I don’t think the 800s are the turbo. They have a chance with the pure 1000s but they either give me a touch of info on them or act like they don’t exist. We really need a company to make a larger a/r exhaust housing that’s factory style to fit ps2+ size wheels in.
