Phone connection

My 2017 M4 does not seem to want to run Waze.
Does anyone here have any idea why the car won't recognize and connect when I am using Waze on my phone?
Is it possible I need to upgrade or code the screen.

Try resetting your iDrive by holding the vol button down until a little after you see the m animation appear on the screen.
