Driving the Fränkische Schweiz Area (North of Nuremberg)...
Quote:
Quote:
When the speed limit begins on a derestricted section of Autobahn... you will always see TWO lolipop speed limit signs(one on each side of the Autobahn). Then a few hundred meters down the road... another set of speed limit signs. ^^Like in this pic.. a par of speed limit signs(the red lolipop signs, that are blurred out)... one Left and one Right. Then you will have another set/par of signs further down the road. At least in Bayern - that is how they do it. Then after that second set a sped limit signs... the Polizei may setup a Blitzer(photo radar). On many new cars... especially BMWs... they have the speed limit info displayed in the instrument panel. This really helps when driving on unfamiliar roads. The car's system uses cameras to identify(read) the new speed limit signs on the roads - and displays it in the instrument panel. Quote:
The warning vest is sometimes included in the First Aid kit in the trunk or back seat area. For rental cars they have these cheap ice scrapers that look like a small plastic card or the "Parkscheibe" or "ParkTacho" has a scraper built into one side of it. I am sure you have seen one of these before in the glove box. In your own car... the vest should be accessible from the driver's seat. So you can put one on before exiting the car. Quote:
But many people still think it is from October 15th to April 15th. The Germans like to say from "O" to "A". While you don't need snow tires when it is above 7.5 degree's 'C... IF you get into an accident or cause one... AND you do not have snow tires on when its under that temp. You can be charged with the accident and your insurance doesn't have to pay. So... almost every German just installs snow tires and calls it a day. German's no use All Season tires... because in reality they are No Season tires. Once you drive in winter with WINTER tires... you will never go back to A/S tires. The grip is just amazing. Even in warmer temps above 7.5 'C. Yeah... with summer tires you can really feel a much sportier drive. But when the temps get near freezing... you can feel the tires spinning. Quote:
Since you will be in the Nurnberg area... you might want to drive some nice curvy twisty roads in a National State Park just North of Nurnberg. It is called: Fränkische Schweiz (or: Franken Switzerland, Franken for the area that Nurnberg is in, and Switzerland bc of the rock formations. We Americans call it: "Little Swiss". There are many castles in this area and you really can't go wrong. Plus for Easter every little village decorates their town fountain with hand painted Easter Eggs. This area is so loved by all Germans that there are tour buses of German tourists that tour this area! https://www.google.de/maps/dir/Touri...d49.773641!3e0 The view from Frankenberg... (I think this is near Grafenberg area) Fränkische Schweiz Museum - Am Museum 5, 91278 Pottenstein The Fränkische Schweiz area... Tuchersfeld... https://www.google.de/maps/place/T%C....3605696?hl=en 91286 Obertrubach - driving on the B2, North direction Nurnberg... https://www.google.de/maps/place/912....3462419?hl=en Fränkische Schweiz Museum - Am Museum 5, 91278 Pottenstein Fränkische Schweiz Museum - Am Museum 5, 91278 Pottenstein The Franken flag of this area... Fränkische Schweiz Burg Rabeneck - St2191, 91344 Waischenfeld https://www.google.de/maps/place/Bur....3272476?hl=en Burg Rabenstein - Rabenstein 33, 95491 Ahorntal https://www.google.de/maps/place/Bur...1.370475?hl=en Burg Hohenstein - Hohenstein 2, 91241 Kirchensittenbach https://www.google.de/maps/place/Bur....4224229?hl=en Burg Gößweinstein - Burgstraße 30, 91327 Gößweinstein https://www.google.de/maps/place/Bur....3341999?hl=en IF you do travel into the Fränkische Schweiz area... there is a small nice restaurant called: Stark. I know them well and its always a friendly place to eat. Nothing too special... just your basic nice country gasthaus. But they do have menu's in English. They speak a little but of English too. A friend of mine worked for NATO and in the back room you can see pics of his NATO AWAX planes. He is married to the sister of the owner of this restaurant. Gasthaus Stark Am Winkelweg 2, 96129 Strullendorf https://www.google.de/maps/place/Gas...1.068369?hl=en I'll post my restaurant recommendations later tonight. Dackel

Ok here are my top picks for restaurants in Nurnberg city. Bratwurst Röslein Schäuferla (also "Schäuferle", "Schüfeli", "Schäufele" or "Schäufelchen") is a traditional dish from Southern Germany. It is made from the pig's shoulder meat, which gives the dish its name, "Schäufele", or the pig's scapula. Very soft tender meat with crispy fat on top. So yummy!! Bratwurst Röslein Rathauspl. 6 90403 Nürnberg Bratwurst Röslein is located to the left of the main market square and Nurnberg's famous Frauenkirche(Church of Our Lady). Bratwurst Röslein is a medium sized restaurant. Not too big nor small. It's just right for me. Very simple, charming German decor. Röslein is known for the yummy bratwurst but they also serve fish and other meats here. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Bra....0778739?hl=en Heilig-Geist-Spital Heilig-Geist-Spital Nürnberg (Holly Ghost Hospital, back in 1339) Spitalgasse 16 90403 Nürnberg Heilig-Geist is a very large and traditionally German restaurant. Its kind of dark and charming in the evenings. The dining room is rather large. I bet they can serve 150 or more people at ease at once. You still get good service. It's just a large dining room. Grab a table that over looks the river & bridge. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Res....0790642?hl=en Nurnberg's Kaiserburg (Castle) You can walk to the RIGHT of this pic and walk up into the castle for a great view of the city!! During the day, the castle is open for tours. Also IF you walk thru the Castle passage... there is a nice beer garten and coffee house called the Hexenhäusle (witches house) which is nice to visit on a sunny day. Also great views of the Kaiserburg from the "other" side. Burgwächter restaurant is on the left side of this pic. Burgwächter restaurant is on the left side, where there car's are parked. Burgwächter Burgwächter Am Ölberg 10 90403 Nürnberg The Burgwächter is located under the Kaiserburg(Nurnberg's City Castle) and its quite cozy and small. Excellent food and drink. I always enjoy eating here. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Bur....0767756?hl=en Zum Spießgesellen just to the RIGHT in this photo is the Bratwurst Röslein and the Zum Spießgesellen is to the LEFT. Another way to enter the Zum Spießgesellen. Zum Spießgesellen Rathauspl. 4 90403 Nürnberg I've never eaten here, but the place is always packed and it looks quite good. I just thought I would throw it in here. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Zum....0773261?hl=en SORAT Hotel Schöner Brunnen Nürnberg's Frauenkirche in the main city market square. IF you are looking for a hotel in Nurnberg... this place is nice. While I have not stayed here... But I have stayed at their sister hotel in Regensburg and was quite nice. SORAT Hotel Saxx Nürnberg https://www.google.de/maps/place/SOR....0762928?hl=en When visiting Nurnberg be sure to visit the Schöner Brunnen(beautiful fountain)... There is a brass ring on the front of the fountain... spin it THREE times to make your special wish come true! It is a very well know tourist attraction located at the edge of the main market square. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Sch....0770458?hl=en When I visit Nurnberg I almost always park at the Parkhaus Hauptmarkt garage. It's safe and clean and well lit. IF you follow the signs for the tourist office(located next to the Schöner Brunnen) you will find this parkhaus. I think they charge about ~2 euros per hour's stay. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Par....0754791?hl=en Parkhaus Hauptmarkt garage... Maybach Fahrzeuge Museum... http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=802200 Neef Confiserie Café is just to the LEFT of this pic. Inside the parkhaus is where you pay for your parking ticket fee at the machine. IF you exit the back part of the garage... you will pass by Neef Confiserie Café It is a really nice bakery/coffee shop. They have the greatest displays in their windows. I always walk past for a look. Neef Confiserie Café

Nürnberg...
Some more sights of Nürnberg...
Schöner Brunnen & Hauptmarkt... Frauenkirche & Schöner Brunnen... Lebkuchen Schmidt - maker of fine Gingerbread in Nurnberg. You can also visit their factory store here and buy direct! Often times they have slightly damaged gingerbread for very cheap, in small little one pound bags for a few euros. Here is their factory shop... https://www.google.de/maps/place/Leb....1191404?hl=en Waffen Hut. Formerly an armoury... today used as a Polizei substation. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Pol....0776198?hl=en The McD's are very small. No drive thru since it's inside a pedestrian area... but they do have a "walkup" window! At the bottom of this corner building is the smallest restaurant I have ever been in. Must be like eight tables. The entrance door is quite low and then you walk down 20 meters of stairs only to find a small restaurant. The food was not that great... but then again I was last there some twelve years ago. It is a cool looking place. Restaurant Nassauer Keller zu Nürnberg (The "Wet Basement") The view of the Kaiserburg from Karstadt dept store. World famous Kathe Wohlfahrt. You can buy Christmas stuff here year round. Nurnberg has these century lookout positions around the medieval city walls. This one is near the main train station(Hauptbahnhof) Easter chocolates on display in Karstadt... one of my favorite stores in N. Müller Drogeriemarkt... a large three floor drug store that also sells lots of toys and model cars. Here are some Carrera slot cars - that are also made in the Nurnberg area. Its on the second floor. They also have lots of Marklin trains and accessories. Downstairs is any womens paradise with tons of perfume and such! https://www.google.de/maps/place/M%C....0775306?hl=en Heilig-Geist-Spital restaurant... Frauenkirche in the main market square(Hauptmarkt)... Casa Pane... also not a bad place to eat... https://www.google.de/maps/place/Cas....0766307?hl=en Walk straight up this road(hill) is the Kaiserburg. It's about a 400 meter walk up quite a hill. Kunstbunker or Art Bunker... This is where Hitler hid some of the stolen art from around the world. They use to have a cheeky sign that read "only Bunker to be tested SEVEN times by direct hits from the 8th Allied Air Force"!! The bunker is some 70 meters under the earth. So there was no damaging it. You can tour this bunker on work days by visiting... AND don't be late... bc they WILL close the Bunker door and you will miss the tour. That happened to me once! lol You buy the tickets down the street... then wait at the big red bunker doors. Bunker location... https://www.google.de/maps/place/His...1.074888?hl=en You can buy your tickets here... just down the street... they also make their own malted liquor and sell beer glasses/mugs... https://www.google.de/maps/place/Hau...1.074921?hl=en Bunker's website... https://www.felsengaenge-nuernberg.d...rt-bunker.html Albrecht-Dürer-Haus... https://www.google.de/maps/place/Alb....0738305?hl=en Catacombs used as bomb shelters during WWII... this statue(Albrecht-Dürer Denkmal) was the only thing left standing after one of the many bombing raids done by the Allies. Albrecht-Dürer Denkmal https://www.google.de/maps/place/Alb...1.075867?hl=en Catacomb entrance next to the Denkmal(memorial) statue... Vintage books AND trains! Smart-ie street parking! The oldest suspension bridge in Europe. Built in 1824. There is a model of this bridge in the Deutsches Technik Museum in Munich. Also next door to the bridge is also a very good restaurant too. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Ket....0709371?hl=en

For my personal winter car... a BMW e39 540i.. the snow tires are good for 210 kph(135 mph)... I have been known to blast past that speed - for a few seconds to get away from "slower traffic" when the conditions are right. Dackel

First, nice to know who you are, finally
How far is the parking lot from the Burgwächter? Is it walking distance? As usual, lots of information that unfortunately I wont have enough time to visit most of it but I'm sure other thread readers will have the chance to use it I thought of driving north on the first day: https://goo.gl/N1qjss and a short version of last years drive on the second day: https://goo.gl/qYnwqo On the first day, I'll stop in Nuremberg on my way to pottenstein or on the way back (depends on the time and my hunger ) Parking rates are between decent to cheep. Here it is usually 5 Euros for the first our and then another Euro for each 15 minutes. Thanks a lot! |

IF you have the time... take the back country roads up to Pottenstein. Either the B2 out of Nurnberg... or take Autobahn A3 to the A73 to Forchheim.. then take the B470 into Pottenstein. The B470 is the way most people drive into that area. Once you get past Forchheim... it is a nice country road. On the way back South... I would say take your way... on the A9 from Pottenstein to Nurnberg and then onto Munich. https://www.google.de/maps/dir/Star+...2d49.78202!3e0 I think this is how I would drive into Pottenstein from Nurnberg city... https://www.google.de/maps/dir/Star+...d49.773641!3e0 Quote:
I really like this area of Southern Germany. Fischbachau is where my Winkelstube Cafe is located. I can't remember IF you went there on your last trip to DE. ? Bad Tölz --> Fischbachau --> Bayrischzell --> Tatzelwurmstraße, Oberaudorf --> and then into Kufstein, Austria. IF you can make it down into the Berchtesgaden area... the Rossfeld Panorama Strasse, Roßfeldstraße, Eck - is quite nice too. There is a small fee of six euros to drive it though. Quote:

Cafe Winklstüberl & Fränkische Schweiz...
Quote:
This route up the B2... https://www.google.de/maps/dir/Star+...d49.773641!3e0 Realy as soon as you cross over the A3 driving on the B2 from say Heroldsberg to Pottenstein the B2 becomes a nice twisty road. I think you will enjoy it. https://www.google.de/maps/dir/90562...!3e0!5i1?hl=en Quote:
Bernhard´s Stammhaus - Restaurant & Hotel Marienpl. 2, 83080 Oberaudorf https://www.google.de/maps/place/Ber...2.173903?hl=en I was thinking of Café Winklstüberl... in Southern Germany... Café Winklstüberl Leitzachtalstraße 68 83730 Fischbachau https://www.google.de/maps/place/Caf....9535756?hl=en Here is my write up on Winkelstuberl in Fischbachau... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...4&postcount=51 Places of interest in the Fränkische Schweiz... Muggendorf - there is a guy who's house is a model train museum open to the public... Modellbahnmuseum Muggendorf Bayreuther Str. 23 91346 Wiesenttal The museum is very small but kind of cool place to visit for an hour or so. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Mod....2664151?hl=en Modelbahn Museum Moggendorf http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=429722 Giechburg - a formerly ruined castle that is now hotel and restaurant, just outside of Bamberg. The B22 road from Schelitz to Aufsess... is really quite nice. https://www.google.de/maps/dir/B22,+...0734!3e0?hl=en Just be careful as you leave Würgau 96110 Scheßlitz and drive direction Hollfeld - the cops like to sit at the top of the hill and "wait" for speeders. This road has a ridiculous low speed limit of 50 kph. It should be double that. But then again, there are a lot of accidents on this road. IF you drive this section of the B22... just make some pre runs at the speed limit. In Würgau - there is a nice beer brewery. Actually the triangular area from Bamberg(BA) to Bayreuth(BT) and to Nurnberg has the highest concentration of beer makers in the world. Inside of Bamberg there are over 200 breweries. I think in the BA, BT & Nurnberg area there are over 2K official regulated breweries. Further up the B22 is a nice castle/burg... Burg Wiesentfels. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Bur....2182856?hl=en Here I was driving near Aufseß (Aufsess) back to Bamberg on the A70. In Aufseß is the world's famous Kathi Bräu - a cool Beer-keller and Restaurant that a lot of bikers frequent in the spring/summer. On the Springtime weekends there can be a few hundred people on motorcycles who stop here. It's a safe and nice place to visit... and the roads around Aufseß are really quite nice!! Kathi Bräu... https://www.google.de/maps/place/Kat...1.244838?hl=en Driving around in Germany/Autobahns (videos inside!) http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=424388 German Beer Museum in Bayreuth... Maisel(brothers) beer is part of Kulmbacher beer brand - also made near by. Maisel‘s Brauerei Museum Kulmbacher Straße 40 D-95445 Bayreuth My write up and photos here... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485904 Schloss(Schloß) Seehof Restaurant Café A rather large estate/residenz near Bamberg that is a nice place to walk around and have a bite to eat. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Sch....9497401?hl=en I know how much you like to drive twisty roads... IF you can... this route is a very nice route to drive. It doesn't have to be in this direction. These roads are quite nice though. https://www.google.de/maps/dir/W%C3%...3641!3e0?hl=en In Pottenstein... there is the Teufelshöhle(devil's cave). Its where they found some dinosaur bones and caveman many years ago. Now it's a tourists attraction & cafe. There is a huge terrace where they made a cafe onto it. http://www.pottenstein.de/startseite-teufelshoehle Teufelshöhle Pottenstein https://www.google.de/maps/place/Teu....4201593?hl=en Next door to the cave is a Sommerrodelbahn or luge... for a few euros you can ride a little wagon up the mountain and then ride down the hill. I think its one of the longest Sommerrodelbahn in Germany. And further down the street is a nice restaurant... Gasthof Pension Schüttersmühle - where they serve your meat on a hot stone. Everyone calls this place "Steak on a Stone"... but they also serve ostrich, alligator, lamb and other "different type" meats. You can also buy tickets for the Sommerrodelbahn here and avoid the long lines next door. These are the main tourist areas of the Fränkische Schweiz. In these towns you will find huge water fountains decorated for Easter. Gößweinstein (or Goessweinstein) Ebermannstadt Heiligenstadt Hiltpoltstein Here is what the typical Easter(Ostern) fountains look like in the Fränkische Schweiz villages.... Gößweinstein And one last piece of advice... make sure that you have enough fuel before driving into the Fränkische Schweiz area. There are only two or three gas stations that I know of in Ebermannstadt and Forchheim areas. So have at least a half of tank when you drive in this area. Hope I didn't overload you with info. (again) take care, Dackel

Outlet Malls...
Quote:
There are MANY outlet shops in Germany. But they mostly have last year's fashsions at good prices. Disney owns these outlet shops bellow. I have only been to Wertheim... to be honest I'd rather spend my money on tools in Obi or Hornbach(German hardware stores) than on clothes. lol But these places might be of interest to others on ED or who live over here in DE. Most Germans travel to the states to find good deals! There is Wertheim Village near Wurzburg off the A3 Autobahn... www.wertheimvillage.com/en/home Ingolstadt Village - off the A9 near Ingolstadt... (just North of Munich) www.ingolstadtvillage.com/en/home/ Maasmechelen Village - near Brussels/Köln/Antwerpen www.maasmechelenvillage.com/en/home LA VALLÉE VILLAGE near Paris... www.lavalleevillage.com/en/home/ Fidenza Village - near Milan/Bologna... www.fidenzavillage.com/en/ Notable mentions... Also... try going to Google Maps... select the area of Germany you will visit.... then search for: "outlets". You are bound to find a few places. South of Stuttgart... OUTLETCITY METZINGEN... www.outletcity.com/en/metzingen @A61 I'll take a guess and say you are stationed in Spangdahlem AFB ? You might try visiting these places... City Outlet Bad Münstereifel www.cityoutletbadmuenstereifel.com Centre Commercial Langwies 1 et 2 - Luxembourg www.langwies.lu/de McArthurGlen Luxembourg... www.mcarthurglen.com/be I have been to this mall: CentrO in Oberhausen... and its very much like a US style mall. A few hundred stores over two levels with four big anchor dept stores. I would recommend spending an afternoon here. There is also a Disney theater near by and the Gas-O-Meter thing next door. Lots of French and Dutch come here bc it's just over the border for them. Christmas time here is CRAZY!! CentrO - shopping mall in Oberhausen Centroallee 1000, 46047 Oberhausen www.centro.de One mall that I really, really like is in Modena, Italy. It's called: Grandemilia. Just take the Modena North exit on the A22/E45 (Brenner Autostrada). Inside Grandemilia is about 50 stores like Timberland and Disney and Prada... but its also has THE largest grocery store you have ever seen! Ninety eight checkout lanes, so much fresh Fish, Sushi, Wurst, cooked foods, plus everything for the house and family. It's kind of the Italian version of Walmart. It's called: Coop or Iper COOP. I think it means super CO'OP. Anyways... the store is HUGE and they have an awesome selections of delicious foods. IF you are in the area... I highly recommend a visit! COOP there also runs a gas station which has really quite decent fuel prices - very unItalianlike. I was there last week... here in Germany SuperPlus(Premium) runs about 1,47 per liter. While in Italy most places had only Super(mid grade) for 1,80 per liter. COOP had SuperPlus for 1.45 a liter. I thought that was fairly cheap bc in the summer months... I am sure Italian fuel will be close to 2,00's per liter! Grandemilia Via Emilia Ovest, 1480 41123 Modena MO, Italy www.grandemilia.it Here are some pictures from Grandemilia inside the Iper COOP, that I took earlier this week... Lunch Italia style... Fuel prices on March 13th, 2018. Gasolio = Diesel, Benzina = Gasoline(Super, mid grade), GPL = LPG. They also had SuperPlus here... I think I paid 1.52 per liter. I can't remember. The Alps on the Brenner Pass, just before the Europa Bridge. Vignette verkauf... Austrian Vignette sales. You MUST have one before entering Austria! IF you travel to Millan you MUST visit Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It's downtown near the huge cathedral. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Piazza del Duomo 20123 Milano MI, Italy www.visitamilano.it Since you will be in Munich for your ED... everyone should pop into Galeria Kaufhof, in the downtown area. It is a large, typical dept store with lots of goodies for man or woman. It's located on one end of the Marienplatz, Glockenspiel. Downstairs they have a decent selection of German tourist goodies. Galeria Kaufhof München Marienplatz Kaufingerstraße 1-5, 80331 München www.galeria-kaufhof.de Downstairs in the lower floor U2 I think? They have a really nice deli/bakery. International foods and really nice foods are found here. Worth a visit! Some other really nice shops for special clothes or one off things would be... LUDWIG BECK - Kaufhaus der Sinne Marienplatz 11, 80331 München www.ludwigbeck.de Hirmer GROSSE GRÖSSEN München Kaufingerstraße 28 80331 München www.hirmer.de Restaurant Dallmayr the famous coffee house. Also next door they have a fantastic delicatessen(don't think cold cuts but rather the finer things in Life) with cigars and chocolates and everything fine. The prices are also out of this world! $$$ But its fascinating to go inside and look around and maybe indulge in something. Restaurant Dallmayr (I'd say this place is a MUST see place when in Munich!!) Dienerstraße 14-15, 80331 München www.dallmayr.com Walking down the street.... there is the Manufactum Warenhaus. Think of one part bakery, one part cheese shop, one part sharper image and one part Neiman Marcus. This place is really cool. Also a must visit shop I think. Manufactum Warenhaus Dienerstraße 12 80331 München www.manufactum.de I'd say walk this route behind the Marienplatz. Then go for a nice dinner at the Hofbrau Hof or any other nice beer garden in the downtown area. Andechs(Andechser am Dom) or Zum Augustiner(Neuhauserstr. 27, 80331 München) with their famous "muscle sea shell room" or the Brenner Operngrill - any of those places would be quite memorable! Dackel's shopping walking tour of downtown Munich... https://www.google.de/maps/dir/Porsc...4249!3e2?hl=en A61 is correct about getting your VAT refunded. Just pack your purchases as carry one... when your at the airport to leave... show the ZOLL(German customs) your purchases and receipts. They will stamp your VAT REFUND form... then you get the VAT back a few weeks later after you are back in the states. German VAT is 19% now. About ten years ago it was only 16%. There is one politician who wears "22" pins and wants to raise the VAT to 22%. ugggh! Living and experiencing Europe has more to do with living than shopping. In Germany the prices for goods seem to be "set" or regulated. There are only two times per year when stores can offer "sales" for one week in February and one week in July. Winterschlussverkauf and Sommerschlussverkauf. This practice dates back to Adolf's time in power. Kind of like how the shops had to close by a certain time(6pm or 8pm and at noon on Saturdays). Fortunately, this law was abolished ten years ago in Bayern. In Bayern(Bavaria) all stores are closed on Sundays. And most museums are closed on Mondays, including the BMW Museum. If you have any other Q's... just ask away. Dackel

Just landed yesterday in munich. Got the car in the evening and started my trip today's morning. One thing I haven't taken into account. That today is Easter. What a disaster.
The A9 was packed all the way to Nuremberg. Couldn't pass the 240 KPH mark. Average speed was around 140. The road to pottstein was also quite busy. On the contrary, the food in Burgwächter was very good and all this area is very old and nice to hang around. I ate a very similar dish to what I have eaten in sackt goarshausen but much better in taste. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Will post pictures/videos when I'll get back Thanks |

kingikra looks like you enjoyed the Kochelsee area.
I'd love to hear more about your trip. The weather has really gotten more Spring like after Easter Monday. Before then it was still cold outside. Now everyone is removing their winter tires and installing summers. Dackel
