There is a ridge/line there. It's difficult to see because it's subtle and because it's at the edge of the camouflage, but previous up-close photos of the F30 have shown it.

You can see it clearly here:

They're the same. It's the angle playing tricks on the eye.
On the left side, the two lines meet at the end, and thats not the case on the right side..

Ah, you mean in the render. Yeap, there's a little discrepancy (it's a render afterall). For the real life lines, check the image I just posted 2 posts above.

This is assuming that the F80 M3 will not get a different styled hood than the F30 of course.. which the prototypes spotted so far haven't shown.

Well, yeah. I thought the render was the main topic, no? I wouldnt expect a real life m3 to have that kind of flaw. Anyhow, just wanted to point that out.

I believe the F30/F80 M3 will have the power dome alongside the carbon roof option and M specific side mirrors.
Only time will tell though!

The power bulge did nothing functional on the e46 and was completely for display and looks. Also on the e90, the powerbulge did prove to necessary to give more room between the top of the engine and the hood.

However given it was for looks ONLY on the e46, I do not see why not put it on for looks on the new one. Just like they do with the cheap side-vents

I am still seeing more of a dome shape to the hood like it looks more raised than the render and there is more emphasis around the air vents and below the lights... It also looks like there might be the little side flaps like on the 1m...

Power bumps look aggressive... Just gives that extra I'm fast underneath... But true with lower center of v design like m5 more classy having flat hood... But having not a power bump per se but a really raised hood w vents would be great for m3... kinda disappointing in sense how 370z lost the power bump the later 350z had

That's not to aggressive. It looks clean and nice. But that would disappoint me

Regarding to the origin of the power dome on the E9X M3...
I recall watching a DVD sent by BMW when I bought the E92, it was stating that the motor engineers went to the design team and asked them if it is possible to increase the height of hood so they can give the S65B40A engine more torque. Based on that request, the designers added the power dome.

I don't know any background info regarding to the dome on my E46..

It would be nice to see a dome on the 5th gen M3's hood...
However, considering the E30 and E36 didn't have the dome and the E46 and E9X has it.
It is hard to tell if the 5th gen will have it or not... Especially since it appears that the 5th gen does not need a power dome to facilitate its engine, unlike the E9X model...
