Competition Badge?

Hi guys,

Does anybody installed the competition badge from the M2 or M5 on his M3? Pics?

best wishes

People have done it but imho looks kind of tacky installing non factory badging on an M car.

If you like it though, go for it. It’s simple enough to do.

That spot is reserved for the model name, not option packages. M2 and M5 Competition have/will have the badge because it is no longer a package, it is their model name. Sticking the badge on an M3/M4 is no less tacky than making and sticking a "Driver Assistance Package" badge in that spot. Everyone who knows M cars will know you have worrying levels of badge envy and everyone that doesn't won't be impressed in the least anyway.

Its bad enough that everyone has to specify their M3/4 as competition on the forum but actually putting a sticker on the car is another level. May as well just keep the original window sticker on.

What about people putting black m3/4 badges on non zcp car? Or zcp 20” wheels on a non zcp car? One could argue that black badges and ZCP wheels should only be on zcp cars from the factory. People trying to look like a zcp car when they arn’t optioned that way. No one seems to have an issue with that but everyone is very critical about this completion badge. I don’t have this on my zcp car but it is your car, to each his own.

Meh, The black badge is the same as putting black bits on the rest of the car and getting rid of the chrome. I blacked out everything on my "civic M3", including that badge, before ZCP was even available. Adding an extra label, however, to the car that isn't part of the car isn't far off from people adding the Porsche "turbo" badge (as I recently saw on the rear of a late 1990's Acura Legend...).

I'm still toying with putting the 320i badge on the back but my plate ruins the joke.

Even if someone wants a RS4 badge on his M4... Let him do it...why not?

My friend had a 520i on his E60 M5

If you like it, do it! It's your car, enjoy it.

Hmm, why not, indeed? You could be on to something.

Like the above poster stated, people have been putting on and blacking out badges for decades, long before ZCP existed. The M2 and M5 Competition is the actual model name it’s not just adding a different color badge to an existing car.

M4/3 is still an M4/3 ....it is not a “ZCP M3” like it’s some kind of special model. It’s an M3/4 with the competition package.

BMW with the way they are marketing their current models are starting to differentiate their M car model lineup. Ie base M car> Competition model> specialty car (ie M3/4 CS, CSL, GTS, etc).

So despite all the opinions on what people should do with their own cars... I do like the idea of the competition badge under my M3 badge. I wonder if BMW will sell just the competition part of the badge?

If you can't see how these things are different from literal word badging under your model number, nobody can help you. Just do what you want.

I bought the fuck out of the 666s, best looking wheels on the f8x platform, and threw em on my '15.

Maybe best looking OEM wheel but there are better choices aftermarket.

when it comes to badges for me, I think it would be best to keep it stock.

Competition Trunk emblem

I am going to put the competition badge on my trunk on my m4 zcp. I found the m2 comp and m4 comp badge, the m4 comp badge is significantly more expensive, I will only need the bottom competition stripes. Anyone have gotten them? Are the competition stripes different? Thanks in advance!

Subjective. I've yet to see a wheel I like better 🤔

Yeah it is because I can think of many wheels that do. The OEM wheels aren’t wide enough. They car looks more aggressive with wider wheels.
