F80 M3 H&R springs/ M4 H&R Springs
I lowered my car with the F80 M3 specific springs 50474-6(blue springs) The back is very low. Also the ride is pretty stiff/rough. I feel everything on the road thru wheel. My friend just picked up his M4 he got the M4 H&R sport springs 50474 (red). The M4 rides much better than my springs. Less road feel softer more comfy. I notice the difference more in the back. My back is much flatter stiff. His feels soft. Plus he said his M4 stock had plenty body roll now with springs doesn't. My M3 never had body roll. So I'm guessing the M3 is stiffer chassis/suspension?
He also mention that there's 2 holes in back for spring placement/seat. He said my spring is on the lower side if it was on the other hole I will get more spring travel also said it will be alittle higher and softer? |

Chassis is slightly stiffer on the M3, doubt you'll feel the difference but technically it is stiffer.

might wanna look and see if springs were installed correctly, never heard of two different locations were springs would sit, sounds like a possible incorrect install

Well we figured out the problem.. The dust boot on this car is not a separate pc. So when I installed spring I pull down the boot and it the top where spring sits the rubber came off. So it was spring hitting the plastic part of strut mount.

honestly, sleeve overs won't be that much more difference over springs because you're still running the stock shocks and the lower you go the worst it gets, have you considered KW V3's coilovers? They're just awesome!

They should just ban springs outright. Fucks up the cars handling completely and the drop ratios front to rear are a fuck up also and upset balance
Retarded process indeed but then what do you expect for a $450 mod on a $80k car? Coil overs are cheap at $2300 not sure why people opt for this shitty route and the answers are always the same. Worse handling, bouncy etc. About 50% of people who fit sprigs hate them and move to a coilover and stay sold for all future cars. The other 50% don't know how a proper car handles and are indifferent and just like the look and have no issue with the crap handling as they don't know any better |
