Also looks like they added the hood bulge. I don't recall seeing that on the concept pictures

You can mark my words, the F80/82 wont be .5 sec quicker to 100km/h than the E90/92 M3 like you said.

Well, great pics... decent looking ///M cars..... You know the biggest thing that I noticed??? I love the glowing light from the instrument cluster, behind the dials.... I think that looks pretty cool.

I'm just not a fan of the almost biological right/left air intakes. Maybe they will grow on me or fade into the bumper in a darker color. I definitely like the sedan the most.

I'm going to wait until I have time to digest everything seen today and official announcement tomorrow before commenting. Will just say to please stop loving on the M3 so much cause you are killing the residual value of the M4.

It's not like they test drove the car, realised that it wasn't really that great and then put all the staff and money into the design department...
I'd be worried if the same guys who designs the rear bumper also develops the engine.

I fail to see where these cars are different vs the F30 compared to the E9x M3 vs the standard E9x. Other than the roof on the M3 they have got the same type of changes over the standard cars.

Your words are marked

Read the Autocar article. They do say the F8X is quicker by 0.5s to 100 than the E9X...

I am actually digging the M4 more and more. Still will likely wind up with the F80 but really liking the lines. Kind of surprised by the amount of positive comments on the M3 v. M4.

Also like the interior a lot. The fixed headrests worry me a little. Still, anything will be an improvement over the E9x seats...

Why wouldn't it be the same for the F8X

E39 M5

The official BMW of North America statement (mentioned in the 2003 brochure) for the acceleration time from 0–60*mph is 4.8 seconds. It is electronically limited to a top speed of 250*km/h (155*mph).

The E46 M3 European specs was 5.1 sec, US specs 4.8sec.
Not many folks could get their MT E46 M3's in sub 5's.

in real life the E60 M5 runs similar times than the E92 M3.

Ever heard of inflation?

For instance in 2007 alone there was an increase in CPI of 4,28% (USA), meaning that the average price of merchandise went up by around 4%.

Over a 7-8 year period, which is the timespan the E9x price was taken from until the launch of the F8x, the inflation is more than 10%. So, in fact there isn't a increase in price, when adjusted for inflation...

You have a lot of negativity and strong opinions on the F8x, but usually you just throw out random opinions without seeming to check your facts much...

never have i bought a car based off how well it performs, but rather how the car makes me feel.
I agree that most reports probably will not be favourable on engine sound compared with it's predecessors.

The rest of your "hopes" regarding reviews is noted and it will be interesting to revisit them and see if you where spot on or not...

That's ok if a lot of content is included standard - i.e. nav.
When i bought my 2004 M3 (which I still own), it was exactly 20 grand more than the 328i at the time. (what the 335i is today)
So nothing has changed in 10 years.
BTW my M3 was $60k but the only options I got was HK radio and leather pretty much.

It seems my memory was a bit blurry . Looking at older brochures, the new M3s have been quoted to be on par with the existing M5 models:

E46 and E39 at 4.8 to 60mph
E92 DCT and E60 at 4.5 to 60mph

We could have a first with the F8X
