Roughly 250 miles of seat time and I'm still amazed. Took it out to some ridiculous mountain roads here and put it to the test (while being fully aware that I do not possess the skills to extract its full potential, nor desiring to do it on public roads) and I was just completely blown away.

It's actually very mechanical, similar to how my GT-R was, but not overbearing. With the exhaust valves closed and normal driving, it's very livable (and I have an aftermarket center section) The F80 feels calm and cool in comparison. The engine and PDK are 15/10, and the glorious sound the 4.0 produces is just magic. Build quality is phenomenal and the BOSE sound system isn't terrible. Touch screen and CarPlay is fantastic, but who cares with that engine?

Final thought at this point. The car really reminds me of why I loved the E92 M3 so much with the high revving and linear power delivery. It definitely wants you to keep it up in the RPMs.

Pics as reward for your time reading.
great writeup. I had a GTR and plenty of seat time in an E92. I know what you mean about the insane grip the GTR.. and the high revving smooth power delivery of the E92. I ended up going with the 458 to get my high rpm fix.

Been trying to sell my 458 or trade it in for a clean .2 manual with ceramics for a quite a few months now without luck. 1st world problems.
It's funny you say that, I had a lot of friends trying to push me the 458 route. I heard the maintenance on them is actually not bad at all. I was cross shopping the Turbo S, Huracan, and R8 V10 Perf. I love CPO discounts. If I were in the market for a 488, that would have been heavily considered as well.

I decided on the GT3 due to the CPO, less attention grabbing, and high value retention relative to the others. My wife forebode me from the R8 since she wants one one day anyway

JC, Glad you're enjoying the GT3 and I'm really excited I was able to pick up your F80! Who knows, by the time you're ready to move on from the GT3, I may be in the market again

Until then, enjoy the hell out of it!

Thanks, brother. Definitely keep in touch with all the other things we've discussed along the way.

Also, happy birthday again. Enjoy that car in good health!
