So after filling up my 2015 F80 M3, got back in the car and started the engine. The car was flicking between N and P without me touching anything. I put the car into D, and a warning light popped up and the message "rear axle differential lock. Driving stability limited"
Can anyone shed any light on what this could be or if it's a common fault? I'm totally useless when it comes to any sort of fault diagnosis with cars! Thanks In advance! |

I also have a 2015 F80 M3, but haven't experienced this. First thought is that since the M-Diff is operated by servomotor, there's a possibility that your battery is getting weak and/or the servo may have an issue. You may want to have a dealership or a good Independent shop check that for you. The Lithium-Polymer battery is supposed to last as much as 8 or 9 years, but its possible yours isn't charging properly.

Fault with the e-diff.
Not particularly common. Just bring the car to the dealer to get it checked/fixed.

Hi mate, they rang me an hour ago and said it's flagging up a faulty sensor but the battery is also low. Which is weird as the car get driven most days, but he said they're going to charge it and that should be fine
