what sort of discount are achievable on M3

Hi All,

I'm thinking about ordering a new car and would like to know what sort of discount is achievable, I know on C2C cars 10% off list is available but has anyone managed to do better than this ?

Failing the above I will be looking at an approved used one from BMW. so again would like to know what are main things I need to be concerned about

Is it correct that LCI came out in July 2015 and was there a major improvement over the earlier cars ? if not what's was changed ?

It would really be helpful if you know someone who can offer a good discount.

Please advise.

Not sure about current discounts but the M3 LCI came out around sept 2015. It can be identified with different lights at the back, the reversing lights are at the bottom on the LCI.........

From what I've read you should definitely go for an LCI as they've significant improvements. I think the suspenion had been upgraded and traction is improved, much better car to drive. Also significant software updates.

I see that BMW UK are advertising a 2017 model which might help on the current model in terms of discounts. Not sure what the new model has though other than gold brake callipers?

Hmm doesn't show anything different on that page, unless they are adding the LED headlights as standard. Instead of a £1600 option

The M3 has been given everything that the M4 has had in its LCI that the LCI M3 didn't have, if that makes sense!

Hence the new style LED head lights etc....

On the F82 LED adaptive headlights are now standard (but I'm sure the base price will rise to reflect this) along with new LED taillights and a few minor tweaks to the interior and idrive. The F80 had the same updates.
Back OT, I got 19% discount on my F82 competition pack (collecting April) but cheated a bit, didn't negotiate but BMW give some very generous military discounts

19% is a great deal I'd say, good work!

There's no work to do. It's a diplomatic and military sales price list that BMW offer. I bought four BMWs this way.

You may not be aware either, you can go to BMW Park Lane and order a diplomatic/military BMW there, in LHD for export. They'll knock 10% off the net UK price. Due to the current weak Pound, this often works out cheaper than the BMW diplo/military sales price, depending on the model and options. I know several people who have done this where I work. Spec up an M3/M4 on the UK configurator, knock 10% off the price, and then compare that with the price you're paying in Euros.

I'm getting a LHD anyway but paying in GBP. I get it tax free with the 19% on top of that, so just under £50k fully loaded with most options less CCB. Don't think I'd be able to beat that TBH. Just been informed I'll get an LCI, not sure of price difference yet

I am kicking myself these days as I am so aware of how much more I've paid for my car than most members on here..

Despite a healthy deposit, the good spec and most carbon fibre m perf additions(paid in full), I am in massive negative equity if I want to trade in any time soon..(2-3 years). I wish I wasn't such a sucker for all new shiny toys

Is there a help group or shrink for this type of problem?

I just think a few of us got lucky Dammo and were in the right place at the right time when the big discounts were on. Once that couple of months passed, the discounts all dried up and there hasn’t been anything like that since.

Unless of course you are in the military, it would appear.

And the APR went up too.

Oh ok, thanks Andy. I don't feel quite so bad now

I got a superb discount off my last one, I was at the break even point after 18 months.

Can't see this one being that way, but I got a £71,300 car for £63xxx this time. Not bad but when it's the only one in the country and they know you want it, your not in the best position to haggle to the extreme.

Was that on a 18 month old M3? If so that was pretty good, I would be ok with that..

Yeah it was registered June 2015 and traded in December 2016.

Obviously they could have offered more off the orange car and given less for mine but it's horses for courses, it's the cost to change that's the important figure
