This is a stupid question but I will ask it anyway. I was wondering how much damage can messing with the code stuff do to the car? I am definitely going to back up the current parameter files on the vehicle when I start this but am just intrigued to ask this question. I am absolutely terrified to mess something up so I am just going to follow the coding files and parameters to a tee!

I can't wait to start coding, car comes in later this month, approx. 3 weeks or so by the end of March and I have already purchased the cable and have the software (thanks shawnsheridan!!!).

Backups are worthless. Any ECU can easily be reset simply by VO Coding it.

Screwing car up coding it is quite difficult. It can happen, but 99% of time it is recoverable.

I guess I shouldn't be worried then.

Update: I found a cable by entering in the cable into EBay. I hope any cable would do if it is a OBDII to RJ45 cable. Thanks!!!

So I'm using e-sys launcher v2.4.3.85, which then opens up to e-sys 3.27.1 "Secured by Token Master" and after verifying physical connection and a 169.x.x.x IP, when I attempt to connect I don't get any targets but I do see the vehicle VIN. What am I doing wrong, I am following all of the tutuorials... I installed about 6 months ago, maybe I am in need of a software update?

Shawn - if I need updated software can you graciously provide me with the links? I would very much appreciate it.

If the "Open Connection" window under "Target" is empty (no targets), verify the following:
  1. That the "psdzdata" folder is installed properly (From the PSdZData_Lite or PSdZData_Full extraction, copy the "psdzdata" folder to "C:\Data\" (i.e. "C:\Data\psdzdata")
  2. That the psdzdata chassis folders each have an empty "dist" folder. Make sure that there is an empty "dist" folder in each of the psdzdata chassis folders, and if missing, create as needed, e.g.:
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F001\F001_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F010\F010_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F020\F020_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F025\F025_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\F056\F056_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\I001\I001_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\K001\K001_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\KE01\KE01_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
    • C:\Data\psdzdata\mainseries\RR01\RR01_xx_xx_xxx\od x\dist
  3. The the E-Sys "Options" => "Settings" => "Directories => Data: path" is set properly (e.g. "C:\Data")

Nailed it... thank you sir.

I inadvertently set up the folder as such "C:\Data\psdzdata\psdzdata..."

Hi Shawn, may I have the link to the new files as well please? Due to health problems, I have to sell my F80. So I would be very thankfull, if you could explain, how the default values can be coded. Or is it in a readme file of your package anyways?
Thanks man!

Thank you very much!
I could code everything back, except the stuff in TRSVC. See error in pic below. When I "Detect CAF for SWE" I get about 15 options. But non of them works. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks for helping!

Are you injecting to corrupt or missing TRSVC? From picture, it looks like you have green checkmark.

Make sure engine is running. Try without launcher.

Thanks for your reply! I don't know what I should do. Select the Module on the left side and than select "code"?
