Heated steering wheel turns off

Anyone else having issues with their heated steering? I find that in the mornings I can turn it on and the light on the button will light up and the dash will register that the steering wheel has been activated and it works just fine. About 20 minutes after being on the heat will just stop. The light on the button goes out and the dash doesn't register that the heating has been turned off. If I press the button, the dash will register that the heating has been turned off. Once this happens, I normally can't get the wheel to heat up again for a few hours. I don't think this is normal, but it's also my first heated steering wheel. Dealer time?

I don't live in a place where the heated steering wheel is needed but expect after 20 minutes the heat car's interior should be warmed up and the steering wheel should no longer be cold. Heating the steering wheel to the point where it becomes hot would present some safety concerns so they probably turn it off when it should no longer be needed. However someone that uses the heated wheel probably knows better than me.

My heated steering wheel gets HOT in about 2-5 minutes... after that you're just asking for sweaty hands

Sounds like you should take it in to have it looked at. Mine also gets quite warm after a couple minutes. Though I have thought that it shuts itself off after some period of time (20 minutes is probably right). Most of the time I turn mine off after maybe 5 minutes because it gets too warm.
