It's not complex if you know your product which the BM3 guys must.
Sorry to mislead, I am not affiliated with PTF, nor can I share any solution even if I know one. The vendor can only communicate such information. I was just correcting that having a bricked DME is a serious technical term, even that in extreme cases it can NOT be recovered on the bench which is clearly not the case here.

Yes, I understood what you meant, but it's nice once in a while to use the correct terms and learn something, no?

I don't think you can flash original DME software at home.. Usually requires hookup to BMW computer.

No, you don't need to school me. The term brick can be used for several reasons an electronic device might not work, a serious misconfiguration or corrupt firmware for example. i never said they needed to be benched flashed to recover! But anyway lets agree to disagree.

Also what are you talking about the technical nuances about software versioning management!! This would be the case if there was specific mention the product only worked for certain software versions.

I'd rather it was said it was an oversight than you saying it's really difficult managing multiple software versions after the horse has bolted!

I can see and relate to your frustration, but having been part of previous tune first adaptors, I can tell you that they were a nightmare compared to BM3 and the way they're handling it.

Like any product, the first adaptors will always be part of the learn and tweak process. Your car will be back to normal and more very soon.

Seems like the product needed more testing before release. This can hurt its reputation.
I don't see any issues from the first to market, bpm.

First, brick means it's fking dead. Second, there's a specific mention that the product keeps your current software version instead of changing your software version hence the need to update the product to match with all these versions.

You know there's only so much testing can do. Even huge corporations like Apple pushing out products need real-world feedback.
Trust me there is or was a lot to kink out for many other tunes as well. Bm3 JUST released this to the wild literally yesterday.

Yea, it's almost like this can be thought of as the open beta phase.

Yeah, it literally says ‘Beta’ on the PTF website when you buy a license.

Look under the tutorial videos the Cary has put up. I believe he's using a Mac.

I had the same issue as Agirak car died after flash etc. but I was able to flash back to the stock map after a few attempts and got it running again on my own then I drove down to Autotalent and had them do the stage 1 and they had me up and running in no time. I'm still not sure what the issue was but all that matters is now the car runs and feels great no issues since I left Autotalent car made good power on their dyno and on the road it runs smooth and very fast. I love it.

What issue you got buddy? I thought you'd resolved your flash / unlock bit. When you used car this morning did anything occur.

Great to hear. Hopefully more users who have installed without assistance will chime in.

Going by a friend's shop tomorrow to install incase I need a battery boost.

Yes, the stage 2 [93oct] is on my car now and it starts fine. But the warning sign 'Fuel Supply' is on display.

When Agirak was on the same map, his car died when he drove down the road. He got it running again on the stock map but the issue isn't solved yet. I suspect the flash has caused some kind of fuel pump issues. I'm still waiting for my support ticket reply. It's been almost 20 hours and I've been checking my inbox every 20mins for the last 12 hours and can't sleep properly last night!

I need my car running as I normally use it daily but I wouldn't dare to drive it now until it's fixed.

[My ticket support BCS-2148, would appreciate if any PTF guys can contact me.]

Flash back to stock?

They've mentioned there is an issue with the OTS maps being delivered to OBD unlocked cars.

Unfortunately we (UK) can't just pop to a shop and get it sorted!.

Like others, I would really like to hear from the DIY guys that have successfully unlocked and flashed their DME and did not experience any issues post tune.

I'll wait for support for the rest of today. If I don't hear anything I will try the stock flash tomorrow as I really need to use my car.
