My father taught me a lesson as a young boy. NEVER argue/fight over a parking space. Because even if you "win" are you really gonna leave your car in the spot, for the "loser" to come back later and mess it up? Just move on and find another one.

I once parked in a spot in the city where after I parked and got out of the car a Prius came up to me in reverse and said that they had been waiting for that spot. It was two meatheads and they weren't angry or anything like that. The guy just said you didn't see me reversing for that spot? I said no. I mean he must have been a good distance forward if I was able to parallel park and get out of the car by the time he finally reached me. Anyway he just said ok and shook his head calmly.

I came back to find my door had a 2 foot long key mark on it. It was my pristine black acura 😔.

Lesson learned the hard way. Even if I am in the right of way the other person knows where you parked and can do whatever they want to your car and can mess with it. WGood luck finding them and proving anything at that point.

If it happens to me again I'll offer to parallel park their car for them. Even if I see someone get upset and not say anything I'll just leave the spot.
